Woe to the rebellious and defiled city, the oppressing city.

She did not listen to a voice, she did not take correction; in יהוה she did not trust, to her Elohim she did not draw near.

Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves, they do not gnaw bones until morning.

Her prophets are reckless, men of treachery; her priests have profaned the holy, they have wronged the Torah.

יהוה is righteous in her midst; he will not do injustice. Morning by morning, his judgment he gives to the light; it does not fail, and the unjust person does not know shame.

I have cut off nations; their corners are desolate. I have ruined their streets, without a passerby. Their cities are destroyed, without a person, from no inhabitant.

I said, 'Surely you will fear me, you will take correction,' and her dwelling place will not be cut off, all that I have appointed against her. Indeed, they got up early, they corrupted all their deeds.

Therefore, wait for me, declares יהוה, for the day of my rising against them. For my judgment is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my fury, all my burning anger. For by the fire of my jealousy, all the earth will be consumed.

For then I will turn to the peoples a pure lip, to call all of them by the name of יהוה, to serve him with one shoulder.

From beyond the rivers of Kush, my supplications, the daughter of my dispersed ones, will bring my offering.

On that day, you will not be ashamed of all your deeds, in which you have transgressed against me. For then I will remove from your midst your arrogant exultation, and you will no longer be haughty on my holy mountain.

And I will leave in your midst a humble and lowly people, and they will trust in the name of יהוה.

The remnant of Yisra'el will not do injustice, and will not speak lies, and a tongue of deceit will not be found in their mouth. For they will graze and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.

Sing, daughter of Tsiyon! Shout, Yisra'el! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, daughter of Yerushalayim!

יהוה has removed your judgments; he has cast out your enemy. The king of Yisra'el, יהוה, is in your midst; you will no longer fear evil.

On that day, it will be said to Yerushalayim: Do not fear; Tsiyon, do not let your hands hang limp.

יהוה your Elohim is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy; he will be silent in his love; he will exult over you with singing.

The sorrowful from the appointed time I have gathered from you; they were a burden upon her, a reproach.

Behold, I am doing this to all your oppressors at that time. And I will save the lame, and I will gather the scattered. And I will make them for praise and for a name in all the earth, in their shame.

At that time I will bring you, and at the time of my gathering you. For I will make you a name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says יהוה.
