A burden, the word of יהוה, upon Yisra'el. Utterance of יהוה, stretching the heavens and founding the earth and forming the spirit of man within him.

Look, I am making Yerushalayim a cup of reeling for all the peoples around. And also upon Yehudah will be in the siege against Yerushalayim.

And it will be in that day, I will make Yerushalayim a stone of burden for all the peoples. All who lift it will be cut and torn, and all the nations of the earth will gather against it.

In that day, utterance of יהוה, I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness. And upon the house of Yehudah I will open my eyes, and every horse of the peoples I will strike with blindness.

And the chieftains of Yehudah will say in their hearts, 'The inhabitants of Yerushalayim are my strength in יהוה of hosts, their Elohim.'

In that day I will make the chieftains of Yehudah like a fire-pan among wood and like a torch of fire in a sheaf, and they will devour on the right and on the left all the peoples around. And Yerushalayim will still dwell in its place, in Yerushalayim.

And יהוה will save the tents of Yehudah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim may not be magnified above Yehudah.

In that day יהוה will defend the inhabitant of Yerushalayim, and the one who stumbles among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like Elohim, like the angel of יהוה before them.

And it will be in that day, I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Yerushalayim.

And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Yerushalayim a spirit of grace and supplications, and they will look to me, to him whom they have pierced, and they will mourn for him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will grieve for him, as one grieves for a firstborn.

In that day the mourning in Yerushalayim will be great, like the mourning of Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

And the land will mourn, family by family, separately; the family of the house of David, separately, and their wives, separately; the family of the house of Nathan, separately, and their wives, separately;

the family of the house of Levi, separately, and their wives, separately; the family of Shimei, separately, and their wives, separately;

all the remaining families, family by family, separately, and their wives, separately.
