A prayer of Mosheh, man of Elohim. Adonai, You have been our dwelling place in generation and generation.

Before mountains were born, and You brought forth earth and world, and from age to age, You are El.

You turn man to crushing, and You say, 'Return, sons of Adam.'

For a thousand years in Your eyes are like yesterday when it passes, and like a watch in the night.

You sweep them away; they are like sleep. In the morning, like grass it fades.

In the morning it blooms and fades; by evening it wilts and dries.

For we are consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are terrified.

You set our iniquities before You, our hidden sins in the light of Your face.

For all our days turn in Your anger; we finish our years like a sigh.

The days of our years are seventy years, and if by strength, eighty years. Yet their pride is toil and vanity, for it is cut short quickly, and we fly away.

Who knows the power of Your anger, and according to Your fear, Your wrath?

To count our days so teach us, and we will bring a heart of wisdom.

Return, יהוה, how long? And be compassionate toward Your servants.

Satisfy us in the morning with Your mercy, and we will sing and rejoice all our days.

Make us rejoice according to the days You afflicted us, the years we saw trouble.

Let Your work appear to Your servants, and Your splendor to their sons.

And let the pleasantness of Adonai our Elohim be upon us; and the work of our hands, establish it upon us; yes, the work of our hands, establish it.
