Sing out to Elohim, our strength. Shout joyfully to the Elohim of Ya'aqov.

Lift up a song and bring the tambourine, the pleasant lyre with the harp.

Sound the shofar on the new moon, on the covering for our festival day.

For this is a statute for Yisra'el, a ruling for the Elohim of Ya'aqov.

He set this as a testimony in Yosef when he went out over the land of Mitsrayim. I hear a language I did not know.

I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands passed from the basket.

In distress you called and I rescued you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Merivah. Selah.

Listen, my people, and I will testify to you. O Yisra'el, if you will listen to me!

There shall be no foreign elohim among you, and you shall not bow to a foreign elohim.

I am יהוה your Elohim, who brought you up from the land of Mitsrayim. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

But my people did not listen to my voice, and Yisra'el did not consent to me.

So I sent them away in the stubbornness of their hearts; they walked according to their own counsels.

If only my people would listen to me, if Yisra'el would walk in my ways!

Then I would quickly humble their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.

Those who hate יהוה would pretend to obey him, and their time would be forever.

But he would feed him with the finest wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.
