For the director, a song, a psalm of David.

In You, יהוה, I have taken refuge; let me not be ashamed forever. In Your righteousness, deliver me.

Turn Your ear to me quickly; rescue me. Be for me a rock of fortress, a house of strongholds to save me.

For You are my rock and my fortress. And for the sake of Your name, You will lead me and You will guide me.

You will bring me out of the net which they have hidden for me, for You are my stronghold.

Into Your hand I entrust my spirit. You have redeemed me, יהוה, Elohim of truth.

I have hated those who hold to vain, false idols. But I have trusted in יהוה.

I will rejoice and be glad in Your mercy, because You have seen my affliction; You have known the distresses of my soul.

And You have not handed me over into the hand of the enemy. You have set my feet in a wide place.

Have favor on me, יהוה, for I am in distress. My eye is consumed by grief, my soul and my body.

For my life has been consumed by sorrow, and my years by groaning. My strength has failed because of my iniquity, and my bones have been consumed.

Because of all my adversaries, I have become a reproach, and to my neighbors exceedingly, and a dread to my acquaintances. Those who see me outside flee from me.

I am forgotten like a dead man from the heart; I have become like a lost vessel.

For I have heard the slander of many, terror from all around. When they conspired together against me, they plotted to take my life.

But I, in You, have trusted, יהוה. I said, 'You are my Elohim.'

In Your hand are my times. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from my pursuers.

Let Your face shine on Your servant. Save me in Your mercy.

יהוה, let me not be ashamed, for I have called on You. Let the wicked be ashamed; let them be silenced in Sheol.

Let lying lips be silenced, those that speak arrogantly against the righteous with pride and contempt.

How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You have worked for those who take refuge in You, before the sons of men.

You will hide them in the secret of Your presence from the schemes of man; You will conceal them in a shelter from the strife of tongues.

Blessed be יהוה, for He has wonderfully shown His mercy to me in a fortified city.

And I said in my haste, 'I am cut off from before Your eyes.' Yet You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to You.

Love יהוה, all His faithful ones. יהוה preserves the faithful, and repays abundantly the one who acts with pride.

Be strong and let your heart be courageous, all who hope in יהוה.
