Give thanks to יהוה, for He is good; for His kindness is forever.

Let the redeemed of יהוה say this, whom He redeemed from the hand of an adversary.

And from the lands He gathered them, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

They wandered in the desert, in a desolate place, a way to a dwelling city they did not find.

Hungry and also thirsty, their soul within them was distressed.

And they cried out to יהוה in their distress; from their troubles He will deliver them.

And He guided them in a straight way, to go to a dwelling city.

Let them give thanks to יהוה for His kindness and for His wonders to the children of Adam.

For He satisfied a longing soul and filled a hungry soul with good.

Dwellers in darkness and shadow of death, prisoners of affliction and iron.

For they rebelled against the words of El and despised the counsel of the Most High.

And He humbled with hardship their heart; they stumbled and there was no helper.

And they cried out to יהוה in their distress; from their troubles He will save them.

He will bring them out from darkness and shadow of death, and their bonds He will break.

Let them give thanks to יהוה for His kindness and for His wonders to the children of Adam.

For He shattered gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

Fools, because of their way of transgression and because of their iniquities they suffered.

Every food their soul detested, and they reached the gates of death.

And they cried out to יהוה in their distress; from their troubles He will save them.

He will send His word and heal them, and deliver them from their destruction.

Let them give thanks to יהוה for His kindness and for His wonders to the children of Adam.

And let them sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of His deeds with singing.

Those who go down to the sea in ships, workers of business in great waters.

They saw the deeds of יהוה and His wonders in the deep.

And He spoke, and He made a stormy wind stand up, and it lifted its waves.

They ascend to the heavens, they descend to the depths; their soul melts away in trouble.

They reel and they stagger like a drunkard, and all their wisdom is swallowed up.

And they cried out to יהוה in their distress, and from their troubles He will bring them out.

He made the storm quiet, and their waves became silent.

And they rejoiced because they were silenced, and He guided them to their desired haven.

Let them give thanks to יהוה for His kindness and for His wonders to the children of Adam.

And let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people, and in the seat of elders let them praise Him.

He made rivers into a desert, and springs of water into thirst.

A land of fruit into saltiness, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

He made a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into springs of water.

And He settled the hungry there, and they prepared a dwelling city.

And they sowed fields and planted vineyards, and they produced fruit of harvest.

And He blessed them, and they multiplied greatly, and their livestock He did not diminish.

And they were diminished and bowed down from oppression of evil and sorrow.

He pours contempt upon nobles, and He caused them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

And He lifts the afflicted from oppression, and makes families like sheep.

The upright will see and will rejoice, and all iniquity will shut its mouth.

Who is wise and will observe these things? And they will understand the kindnesses of יהוה.
