When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider carefully who is before you.

Do not look at wine when it reddens, when it gives its color in the cup, when it moves smoothly.

Its end is like a snake that bites, and like a viper that strikes.

Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart will speak perversions.

And you will be like one sleeping in the heart of the sea, and like one sleeping at the head of a mast.
