A chosen name is better than abundant wealth, and favor is better than gold and silver.

The eyes of יהוה guard knowledge, and he overthrows the words of the treacherous.

The lazy one says, 'A lion is outside; in the public squares I will be murdered.'

A deep pit is the mouth of loose women; the one who is cursed by יהוה will fall into it.

Foolishness is bound to the heart of a youth; the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.

The one who oppresses the poor to increase his own gain, and the one who gives to the rich, both come only to lack.

Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge.

For it is pleasant if you keep them within you; let them be established together on your lips.
