And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying:

Take a census of the sons of Qahat from among the sons of Levi, by their clans, by their fathers' houses,

from thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, everyone who comes to do service, to do work in the Tent of Meeting.

This is the service of the sons of Qahat in the Tent of Meeting, the most holy place.

And Aharon and his sons shall come and take down the veil curtain and cover with it the Ark of the Testimony,

and put on it a covering of badger skin, and spread over it a cloth of pure blue, and put in its poles.

And on the table of the Presence they shall spread a cloth of pure blue, and put on it the dishes, and the bowls, and the pitchers, and the cups for the drink offering; and the continual bread shall be on it.

And they shall spread on them a cloth of scarlet wool, and cover it with a covering of badger skin, and put in its poles.

And they shall take a cloth of pure blue and cover the lampstand for light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its fire pans, and all its oil vessels with which they serve it,

and put it and all its utensils into a covering of badger skin, and put it on the carrying frame.

And on the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of pure blue, and cover it with a covering of badger skin, and put in its poles.

And they shall take all the utensils of service with which they serve in the holy place, and put them in a cloth of pure blue, and cover them with a covering of badger skin, and put them on the carrying frame.

And they shall clear the altar and spread on it a cloth of purple wool.

And they shall put on it all its utensils with which they serve on it: the fire pans, the forks, and the shovels, and the basins, all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread on it a covering of badger skin and put in its poles.

And when Aharon and his sons have finished covering the holy place and all the holy furnishings, when the camp is to set out, then the sons of Qahat shall come to carry, but they shall not touch the holy things, lest they die. This is the burden of the sons of Qahat in the Tent of Meeting.

And the responsibility of Eleazar son of Aharon the priest shall be the oil for the light, and the fragrant incense, and the continual grain offering, and the anointing oil, the responsibility of the entire Tabernacle and all that is in it, in the holy place and its furnishings.

And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying:

You shall not cut off the tribe of the clans of Qahat from among the Levites.

But do this for them, and they shall live and not die when they approach the most holy things: Aharon and his sons shall come and assign each man to his service and to his burden.

But they shall not go in to see the holy things as they are being covered, lest they die.

And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying:

Take a census of the sons of Gershon, also by their clans, by their fathers' houses.

From thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, you shall count them, everyone who comes to do service, to do work in the Tent of Meeting.

This is the service of the clans of Gershon, to serve and to carry.

And they shall carry the curtains of the Tabernacle, and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, and the covering of badger skin that is over it, and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting,

and the hangings of the courtyard, and the screen for the entrance of the gate of the courtyard that is around the Tabernacle and around the altar, and their ropes, and all the utensils of their service, and everything that is made for them; and they shall serve.

By the direction of Aharon and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of Gershon, for all their burdens and for all their service; and you shall assign to them by charge all their burdens.

This is the service of the clans of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting, and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar son of Aharon the priest.

The sons of Merari, by their clans, by their fathers' houses, you shall count them.

From thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, you shall count them, everyone who comes to do service, to do the work of the Tent of Meeting.

And this is the charge of their burden, for all their service in the Tent of Meeting: the frames of the Tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its bases,

and the pillars of the courtyard around, and their bases, and their pegs, and their ropes, for all their utensils, and for all their service; and by name you shall count the utensils of their charge.

This is the service of the clans of the sons of Merari, for all their service in the Tent of Meeting, under the hand of Ithamar son of Aharon the priest.

And Mosheh and Aharon and the chiefs of the assembly counted the sons of Qahat by their clans and by their fathers' houses,

from thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, everyone who comes to do service for work in the Tent of Meeting.

And their counted number by their clans was two thousand seven hundred and fifty.

These are the counted numbers of the clans of Qahat, all who serve in the Tent of Meeting, whom Mosheh and Aharon counted by the command of יהוה through Mosheh.

And the counted numbers of the sons of Gershon, by their clans and by their fathers' houses,

from thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, everyone who comes to do service for work in the Tent of Meeting.

And their counted number by their clans, by their fathers' houses, was two thousand six hundred and thirty.

These are the counted numbers of the clans of the sons of Gershon, all who serve in the Tent of Meeting, whom Mosheh and Aharon counted by the command of יהוה.

And the counted numbers of the clans of the sons of Merari, by their clans, by their fathers' houses,

from thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, everyone who comes to do service for work in the Tent of Meeting.

And their counted number by their clans was three thousand and two hundred.

These are the counted numbers of the clans of the sons of Merari, whom Mosheh and Aharon counted by the command of יהוה through Mosheh.

All the counted ones whom Mosheh and Aharon and the chiefs of Yisra'el counted of the Levites, by their clans and by their fathers' houses,

from thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, everyone who comes to do the service of work and the service of carrying in the Tent of Meeting.

And their counted number was eight thousand and five hundred and eighty.

By the command of יהוה He counted them through the hand of Mosheh, each man according to his service and according to his burden, and his counted numbers, as יהוה commanded Mosheh.
