And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying:

This is the statute of the law which יהוה commanded, saying, Speak to the sons of Yisra'el, and they shall take for you a red heifer, perfect, in which there is no blemish, on which no yoke has come up.

And you shall give her to El'azar the priest, and he shall bring her outside the camp, and he shall slaughter her before him.

And El'azar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and he shall sprinkle of her blood seven times toward the face of the Tent of Meeting.

And he shall burn the heifer before his eyes; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung he shall burn.

And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet yarn, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

And the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall wash his flesh with water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until evening.

And he who burns her shall wash his clothes with water, and he shall wash his flesh with water, and he shall be unclean until evening.

And a clean man shall gather the ashes of the heifer, and lay them outside the camp in a clean place, and it shall be for the congregation of the sons of Yisra'el for a keeping, for water of impurity; it is a sin offering.

And he who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and he shall be unclean until evening. And it shall be for the sons of Yisra'el, and for the stranger who sojourns among them, for an everlasting statute.

He who touches the dead body of any person shall be unclean seven days.

He shall purify himself with it on the third day and on the seventh day; he shall be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third day and on the seventh day, he shall not be clean.

Everyone who touches the dead body of a person who has died and has not purified himself has defiled the tabernacle of יהוה; and that person shall be cut off from Yisra'el, because the water of impurity was not sprinkled on him; he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is still on him.

This is the law: When a person dies in a tent, everyone who comes into the tent and everything that is in the tent shall be unclean seven days.

And every open vessel, which has no fastening on its opening, is unclean.

And whoever touches on the surface of the field a slain person by sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a person, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

And for the unclean person they shall take of the dust of the burning of the sin offering, and he shall put living water on it in a vessel.

And a clean person shall take hyssop and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, and on all the vessels, and on the persons who were there, and on him who touches a bone, or a slain person, or a dead body, or a grave.

And the clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and he shall purify him on the seventh day. And he shall wash his clothes and wash himself with water, and shall be clean by evening.

But the person who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of יהוה; the water of impurity has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean.

And it shall be for them a statute forever. And he who sprinkles the water of impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water of impurity shall be unclean until evening.

And whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean, and the person who touches it shall be unclean until evening.
