Miryam and Aharon spoke against Mosheh concerning the Kushite woman whom he took, for a Kushite woman he took.

And they said, 'Has יהוה indeed spoken only through Mosheh? Has he not also spoken through us?' And יהוה heard.

Now the man Mosheh was very humble, more than all the people on the face of the earth.

And יהוה spoke suddenly to Mosheh, and to Aharon, and to Miryam, 'Come out, you three, to the Tent of Meeting.' And the three of them went out.

And יהוה descended in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, and called Aharon and Miryam, and they both came out.

And he said, 'Hear now my words: If there is a prophet among you, יהוה will make himself known to him in a vision; in a dream I will speak with him.'

'Not so with my servant Mosheh; he is faithful in all my house.'

'Mouth to mouth I speak with him, and vision, and not in riddles, and he beholds the form of יהוה. Why then did you not fear to speak against my servant Mosheh?'

And the anger of יהוה burned against them, and he departed.

And the cloud departed from over the tent, and behold, Miryam was leprous, like snow. And Aharon turned to Miryam, and behold, she was leprous.

And Aharon said to Mosheh, 'Oh, my Adonai, please do not lay this sin upon us, for which we have acted foolishly and for which we have sinned.'

'Please do not let her be like one dead, from whose mother's womb half of its flesh is already consumed.'

And Mosheh cried out to יהוה, saying, 'Oh, Elohim, please heal her.'

And יהוה said to Mosheh, 'If her father had but spit in her face, would she not be shamed seven days? Let her be shut outside the camp seven days, and afterward she may be brought back.'

So Miryam was shut outside the camp seven days, and the people did not move on until Miryam was brought back.

Afterward the people moved on from Ḥatserot and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
