And on the twenty-fourth day of this month the sons of Yisra'el gathered with fasting and in sackcloth and earth upon them.

And the seed of Yisra'el separated themselves from all sons of foreigners and stood and confessed their sins and their fathers' iniquities.

And they stood up in their place and read from the scroll of the Torah of יהוה their Elohim a fourth of the day and a fourth confessing and bowing to יהוה their Elohim.

And Yeshua and Bani, Qadmi'el, Shavneya, Buni, Sherevya, Bani, Kenani stood up on the platform of the Levites and cried out with a loud voice to יהוה their Elohim.

And the Levites, Yeshua and Qadmi'el, Bani, Ḥashavneya, Sherevya, Hodiya, Shavneya, Petaḥya said, 'Stand up, bless יהוה your Elohim from eternity to eternity, and they will bless your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.'

You yourself are יהוה alone; you made the heavens, the heavens of heavens, and all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them, and you give life to them all, and the host of heaven bows to you.

You yourself are יהוה the Elohim who chose Avram and brought him out of Ur of the Kasdim and gave his name Avraham.

And you found his heart faithful before you and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Kena'ani, the Ḥitti, the Emori, the Perizzi, the Yevusi, and the Girgashi to his seed, and you have upheld your words, for you are righteous.

And you saw the suffering of our fathers in Mitsrayim and heard their cry at the Sea of Suf.

And you performed signs and wonders against Par'oh and against all his servants and against all the people of his land, for you knew that they acted arrogantly toward them, and you made for yourself a name as of this day.

And you split the sea before them, and they crossed through the sea on dry ground, and their pursuers you cast into the depths like a stone in mighty waters.

And by a pillar of cloud you led them by day and by a pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they should go.

And you descended on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from the heavens and gave them just judgments and true Torahs, good statutes and commandments.

And you made known to them your holy Sabbath and commandments and statutes and Torah you commanded them by the hand of Mosheh your servant.

And you gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and brought them water from a rock for their thirst, and you said to them, 'Go in to inherit the land which you have sworn to give them.'

But they and our fathers acted arrogantly and stiffened their necks and did not listen to your commandments.

And they refused to listen and did not remember your wonders which you performed for them, and they stiffened their necks and resolved to return to their servitude in rebellion, but you are a forgiving Elohim, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abundant in kindness, and you did not abandon them.

Even when they made for themselves a molten calf and said, 'This is your Elohim who brought you up from Mitsrayim,' and they committed great abominations.

But you, in your abundant mercies, did not abandon them in the wilderness; the pillar of cloud did not depart from them by day to lead them on the way, nor the pillar of fire by night to light for them and the way in which they should go.

And you gave your good Spirit to instruct them, and you did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst.

And for forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing; their garments did not wear out and their feet did not swell.

And you gave them kingdoms and peoples and divided them as a boundary, and they inherited the land of Siḥon and the land of King Ḥeshbon and the land of 'Og, king of Bashan.

And you multiplied their sons like the stars of heaven and brought them to the land which you said to their fathers they would go in to inherit.

And the sons went in and inherited the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Kena'anim, and gave them into their hand, and their kings and the peoples of the land, to do with them as they pleased.

And they captured fortified cities and fertile land and inherited houses full of all good things, hewn cisterns, vineyards, and olive trees, and trees for food in abundance. And they ate and were satisfied and grew fat and reveled in your great goodness.

But they rebelled and revolted against you and cast your Torah behind their backs and killed your prophets who testified against them to turn them back to you, and they committed great abominations.

And you gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they oppressed them. And in their time of distress they cried out to you, and you heard from heaven, and in your abundant mercies you gave them deliverers who delivered them from the hand of their enemies.

And when they found rest, they returned to do evil before you, and you abandoned them into the hand of their enemies, and they ruled over them. And they returned and cried out to you, and you heard from heaven and delivered them according to your abundant mercies, many times.

And you warned them to return to your Torah, but they acted arrogantly and did not listen to your commandments, and they sinned against your judgments, by which a person shall live by them. And they gave a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their necks and did not listen.

And you prolonged your patience with them for many years, and you warned them by your Spirit through your prophets, but they did not pay attention, and you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

But in your abundant mercies you did not make them completely perish, nor did you abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful Elohim.

And now, our Elohim, the great, mighty, and awesome Elohim, who keeps covenant and kindness, let not all the suffering that has come upon us, upon our kings, upon our princes, upon our priests, upon our prophets, upon our fathers, and upon all your people from the days of the kings of Ashshur until this day, be insignificant before you.

And you are righteous concerning all that has come upon us, for you have acted faithfully, and we have acted wickedly.

And our kings, our princes, our priests, and our fathers did not practice your Torah, nor did they pay attention to your commandments and your testimonies which you testified to them.

And they, in their kingdom and in your abundant goodness which you gave them, and in the spacious and fertile land which you set before them, did not serve you, nor did they turn from their evil deeds.

Behold, we are servants today, and the land which you gave to our fathers to eat its fruit and its goodness, behold, we are servants upon it.

And its produce is abundant for the kings whom you have set over us because of our sins, and they rule over our bodies and our livestock as they please, and we are in great distress.
