And it came to pass after many days, after יהוה gave Yisra'el rest from all their enemies all around, and Yehoshua was old, advanced in days.

And Yehoshua called all Yisra'el, their elders, their heads, their judges, and their officers, and he said to them, 'I am old, advanced in days.'

'And you have seen all that יהוה your Elohim did to all these nations because of you, for יהוה your Elohim, he is the one fighting for you.'

'See, I have allotted to you these remaining nations as an inheritance for your tribes, from the Yarden, and all the nations that I cut off, and the great sea toward the sunset.'

'And יהוה your Elohim, he will drive them out from before you, and he will dispossess them from before you, and you will inherit their land, as יהוה your Elohim spoke to you.'

'And you shall be very strong to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the Torah of Mosheh, not to turn from it right or left.'

'Not to go in with these nations, these remaining ones, with you, and by the name of their elohim you shall not mention, nor cause to swear, nor serve them, nor bow to them.'

'But to יהוה your Elohim you shall cling, as you have done until this day.'

'And יהוה has driven out from before you great and mighty nations, and you, no man has stood before you until this day.'

'One man of you shall pursue a thousand, for יהוה your Elohim, he is the one fighting for you, as he spoke to you.'

'And you shall be very careful for your lives, to love יהוה your Elohim.'

'For if you turn back and cling to the rest of these nations, these remaining ones, with you, and intermarry with them, and go in with them, and they with you.'

'Know for sure, יהוה your Elohim will no longer drive out these nations from before you, and they will be for you a snare, and a trap, and a goad on your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land that יהוה your Elohim has given you.'

'And behold, I am going today in the way of all the earth, and you shall know in all your heart and in all your soul that not one thing has failed of all the good things that יהוה your Elohim spoke concerning you; all have come to you; not one thing has failed from them.'

'And it shall be, just as all the good things came upon you that יהוה your Elohim spoke to you, so יהוה will bring upon you all the bad things until he destroys you from off this good land that יהוה your Elohim has given you.'

'When you transgress the covenant of יהוה your Elohim that he commanded you, and go and serve other elohim and bow to them, then the anger of יהוה will burn against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land that he has given you.'
