And the lot for the tribe of Menasheh, because he is the firstborn of Yosef, was for Makhir, the firstborn of Menasheh, father of Gil'ad, because he was a man of war, and Gil'ad and Bashan were his.

And for the remaining sons of Menasheh, for their families, for the families of Avi'ezer, and for the families of Heleq, and for the families of Asri'el, and for the families of Shekhem, and for the families of Hefer, and for the families of Shemida; these are the male children of Menasheh, son of Yosef, for their families.

And for Tslafhad, son of Hefer, son of Gil'ad, son of Makhir, son of Menasheh, he had no sons, only daughters. And these are the names of his daughters: Makhla, No'ah, Ḥoglah, Milkha, and Tirtsah.

And they came near before Ele'azar the priest, and before Yehoshua son of Nun, and before the leaders, saying, 'יהוה commanded Mosheh to give us an inheritance among our brothers.' And he gave them, according to the command of יהוה, an inheritance among the brothers of their father.

And the portions of Menasheh fell, ten, besides the land of Gil'ad and Bashan, which is beyond the Yarden.

Because the daughters of Menasheh inherited an inheritance among his sons, and the land of Gil'ad was for the remaining sons of Menasheh.

And the border of Menasheh was from Asher, Mikhmethath, which is opposite Shekhem, and the border went to the right, to the inhabitants of Ein Tappuakh.

To Menasheh belonged the land of Tappuakh, and Tappuakh on the border of Menasheh, for the sons of Efrayim.

And the border went down to Nahal Qanah, south of the stream. These cities belong to Efrayim among the cities of Menasheh, and the border of Menasheh is north of the stream, and its outlets are to the sea.

South belongs to Efrayim, and north to Menasheh, and the sea is its border. And in Asher they meet from the north, and in Yissaskhar from the east.

And to Menasheh belonged in Yissaskhar and in Asher, Beit-She'an and its villages, and Yivle'am and its villages, and the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, and the inhabitants of Ein-Dor and its villages, and the inhabitants of Ta'anakh and its villages, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages, the three heights.

And the sons of Menasheh could not drive out these cities, and the Kena'ani was willing to dwell in this land.

And it happened, when the sons of Yisra'el grew strong, they made the Kena'ani a forced laborer, but they did not drive them out.

And the sons of Yosef spoke to Yehoshua, saying, 'Why have you given me only one lot and one portion as an inheritance, when I am a numerous people, seeing that יהוה has blessed me until now?'

And Yehoshua said to them, 'If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest, and clear out for yourselves a place there in the land of the Perizzi and the Repha'im, because the mountain of Efrayim is too small for you.'

And the sons of Yosef said, 'The mountain will not be enough for us, and there are chariots of iron for all the Kena'ani who dwell in the valley land, for those in Beit-She'an and its villages, and for those in the valley of Yizre'el.'

And Yehoshua said to the house of Yosef, to Efrayim and to Menasheh, saying, 'You are a numerous people and have great strength; you shall not have only one lot.'

'For you shall have a mountain, because it is a forest, and you shall clear it out, and its outlets shall be yours. For you will drive out the Kena'ani, because they have chariots of iron, because they are strong.'
