And יהוה appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

And Jonah prayed to יהוה his Elohim from the belly of the fish.

And he said, I called from my distress to יהוה, and He answered me; from the belly of Sheol I cried out, You heard my voice.

And You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the river surrounded me; all Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.

And I said, I am cast out from before Your eyes; yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.

Waters surrounded me, even to the soul; the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped around my head.

To the cuttings of the mountains I went down; the earth, its bars behind me forever; and You brought up my life from the pit, יהוה my Elohim.

When my soul was overwhelmed within me, I remembered יהוה, and my prayer came to You, to Your holy temple.

Those who observe worthless things, their faithfulness they forsake.

And I, with a voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You; what I vowed, I will pay; salvation is from יהוה.

And יהוה spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto the dry land.
