Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

If one attempts a word to you, will you be weary? But who can restrain words?

Look, you have disciplined many, and strengthened weak hands.

Your words have set up the falling, and you have strengthened the knees that bend.

But now it comes to you, and you are weary; it touches you, and you are disturbed.

Is not your reverence your confidence, your hope, and the integrity of your ways?

Remember now, who has perished being innocent? And where have the upright been destroyed?

As I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap it.

From the breath of Elohim they perish, and from the wind of His anger they are consumed.

The roar of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions are broken.

The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness are scattered.

And a word was secretly brought to me, and my ear caught a whisper of it.

In disquietudes from visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

Fear came upon me, and trembling, and the multitude of my bones made me afraid.

Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood on end.

I stood, but I could not recognize its appearance; a form was before my eyes; there was silence, and I heard a voice.

Can a mortal be righteous before Elohim? Can a man be pure from his Maker?

Look, He does not trust His servants, and He charges His angels with error.

Even those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, are crushed before the moth.

From morning to evening they are struck down; they perish forever without anyone considering it.

Indeed, their tent-cord is pulled out from them; they die, but not by wisdom.
