And יהוה answered Ayov from the whirlwind and said:

Who is this darkening counsel with words without knowledge?

Gird your loins like a man, and I will ask you, and you will inform me.

Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you understand discernment.

Who set its measurements? Surely you know. Or who stretched a line upon it?

On what were its bases sunk? Or who cast its cornerstone?

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of Elohim shouted for joy?

Who shut in the sea with doors when it gushed forth from the womb?

When I made clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling cloth?

And I set my limit for it, and I put a bar and doors.

And I said, 'To here you shall come, and no further, and here your proud waves shall be restrained'?

Have you commanded the morning since your days? Have you known the dawn, its place?

To grasp the corners of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out from it?

It is changed like clay under a seal, and they stand forth like a garment.

And their light is withheld from the wicked, and their high arm is broken.

Have you come to the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the search of the deep?

Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?

Have you understood the breadth of the earth? Tell me, if you know all of it.

Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place?

Surely you would take it to its boundary, and understand the paths to its house.

You know, because then you would be born, and the number of your days is great.

Have you entered the storehouses of snow? Or have you seen the storehouses of hail?

Which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of battle and war.

By what way is light distributed? Or the east wind scattered upon the earth?

Who has divided a channel for the flood, and a way for the thunderbolt's sound?

To rain on a land where no man is, a desert without a person in it?

To satisfy the desolate and waste place, and to cause the bud of the grass to spring forth?

Does the rain have a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?

From whose womb did the ice come forth? And who gave birth to the frost of the heavens?

The waters harden like stone, and the surface of the deep is frozen together.

Can you bind the chains of Pleiades? Or loosen the cords of Orion?

Can you bring out the constellations in their season? Or guide the Bear with her children?

Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion upon the earth?

Can you lift your voice to the clouds, so that an abundance of waters may cover you?

Can you send forth lightning, and they go, and say to you, 'Here we are'?

Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?

Who can count the clouds with wisdom? And who can make the bottles of the heavens lie down?

When the dust hardens into a mass, and the clods stick fast together?

Will you hunt prey for the lioness? Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions?

When they crouch in their dens, or lie in wait in their lairs?

Who prepares for the raven its food, when its young cry out to Elohim, wandering because there is no food?
