Elihu answered and said,

Listen, wise men, to my words, and you who know, pay attention to me.

For the ear tests words, and the palate tastes food.

Let us choose justice for ourselves; let us know among ourselves what is good.

For Iyov said, 'I am righteous, and Elohim has taken away my justice.'

'Regarding my justice, I lie; my arrow is without wound.'

Who is a man like Iyov, who drinks mockery like water?

And walks with companions of iniquity, and walks with men of wickedness?

For he said, 'A man will not prosper with Elohim.'

Therefore, men of understanding, listen to me. Far be it from El to do wickedness, and from Shaddai to do injustice.

For the work of a man, He will repay him, and according to the way of a man, He will bring it to him.

Indeed, El will not act wickedly, and Shaddai will not pervert justice.

Who appointed him over the earth? And who set the whole world?

If He sets His heart on him, if He gathers His spirit and His breath to Himself,

All flesh will perish together, and man will return to dust.

And if you have understanding, listen to this; pay attention to the sound of my words.

Can one who hates justice bind? Or will you condemn the greatly righteous?

Will you say to a king, 'Wicked one!' To nobles, 'Ungodly!'

Who did not show favoritism to princes, nor recognize a rich man before a poor man? For they are all the work of His hands.

In a moment they will die, and at midnight the people will be troubled and pass away, and the mighty will be removed without hand.

For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees all his steps.

There is no darkness nor shadow of death where the workers of iniquity can hide.

For He will not again appoint a man to go to El in judgment.

He crushes the mighty ones without inquiry, and sets up others in their place.

Therefore, He recognizes their deeds, and overturns them at night, and they are crushed.

He strikes them as wicked men in the place where they are seen.

Because they turned away from Him, and did not understand all His ways.

To bring upon him the cry of the poor, and the cry of the needy He will hear.

And He gives peace, and who will condemn? And He hides His face, and who will see Him? And over a nation and over a man alike.

From the reign of a hypocritical man, from the snares of the people.

For has one said to El, 'I have borne, I will not offend.'

'What I see, You teach me; if I have done iniquity, I will not do it again.'

'Should it be from You that He repays? For you have rejected. For you choose, and not I. And what do you know?'

Men of understanding will say to me, and a wise man who listens to me.

Iyov speaks without knowledge, and his words are without understanding.

'May Iyov be tested to the end, concerning his answers from men of iniquity.'

For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps among us, and multiplies his words against El.
