The Spirit of Elohim made me, and the breath of Shaddai gives me life.

If you are able to answer me, arrange before me; stand ready.

Look, I am like you to Elohim; from clay I was formed, and also I.

Look, my terror will not make you afraid, and my pressure upon you will not be heavy.

Only you said in my ears, and the sound of words I hear.

I am pure, without transgression; I am blameless, and there is no iniquity in me.

Look, He finds accusations against me; He counts me as His enemy.

He puts my feet in the stocks; He watches all my paths.

Look, in this you are not right; I will answer you, because Elohim is greater than man.

Why do you contend with Him? Because He does not answer all His words.

For Elohim speaks once, and twice He does not regard it.

In a dream, a night vision, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumberings on a bed,

Then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.

To turn man from his deed, and to cover pride from a man.

He spares his soul from the pit, and his life from passing by the javelin.

And he is corrected with pain on his bed, and the abundance of his bones is strong.

And his soul loathes bread, and his appetite, food.

His flesh wastes away from sight, and his bones, unseen, are stripped.

And his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the dying.

If there is an angel for him, a mediator, one among a thousand, to declare to man his uprightness,

And He is gracious to him, and says, 'Redeem him from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom.'

His flesh becomes softer than a youth's; he returns to the days of his youth.

He prays to Elohim, and He favors him; and he sees His face with a shout, and He returns to man his righteousness.

He sings to men and says, 'I sinned, and perverted what was right, and it was not right for me.'

He redeemed his soul from passing through the pit, and his life will see the light.

Look, all these Elohim does, twice, three times with a man,

To bring back his soul from the pit, to shine in the light of the living.

Pay attention, Iyov; listen to me. Be silent, and I will speak.
