At that time, declares יהוה, they will bring out the bones of the kings of Yehudah, and the bones of its officials, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim from their graves.

And they will spread them out to the sun, and to the moon, and to all the host of the heavens, whom they loved, and whom they served, and whom they followed, and whom they sought, and whom they bowed down to. They will not be gathered, and they will not be buried; they will be like dung on the face of the ground.

And death will be chosen over life for all the remnant who remain of this evil family, in all the remaining places where I have driven them, declares יהוה of hosts.

And you will say to them, Thus says יהוה: Will they fall and not rise? If they turn back, will they not turn back?

Why has this people, Yerushalayim, turned back with a perpetual turning? They have held fast to deceit; they refuse to return.

I listened and I heard; they did not speak like this. No one repented of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Everyone turns in his course, like a horse rushing into battle.

Even the stork in the heavens knows its appointed times, and the turtledove, and the crane, and the swallow observe the time of their coming, but my people do not know the judgment of יהוה.

How can you say, We are wise, and the teaching of יהוה is with us? Behold, indeed, the pen of falsehood has made it a false pen of scribes.

The wise men are put to shame; they are terrified and caught. Behold, they have rejected the word of יהוה, so what wisdom do they have?

Therefore I will give their wives to others, and their fields to heirs. For from the least even to the greatest, everyone is grasping greedily; from the prophet even to the priest, everyone practices falsehood.

And they have healed the brokenness of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

They are put to shame because they have committed an abomination; indeed, they are not ashamed at all, and they do not know how to blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall; at the time of their punishment, they will stumble, says יהוה.

I will utterly gather them, declares יהוה. There are no grapes on the vine, and no figs on the fig tree, and the leaf is withered. And I will give them to those who trample them.

Why are we sitting? Gather yourselves, and let us go into the fortified cities and perish there, for יהוה our Elohim has made us perish, and has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against יהוה.

We looked for peace, but no good came; for a time of healing, but behold, terror.

From Dan the neighing of his horses is heard; from the sound of the whinnying of his mighty ones, the whole land trembles. And they have come and devoured the land and its fullness, the city and those who dwell in it.

For behold, I am sending among you serpents, vipers, which have no charm, and they will bite you, declares יהוה.

My sorrow is overwhelming; my heart is sick within me.

Behold, the sound of the cry of the daughter of my people from a distant land: Is יהוה not in Tsiyon? Or is her king not in her? Why have they provoked me with their idols, with their worthless foreign gods?

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

For the brokenness of the daughter of my people, I am broken; I am dark; astonishment has seized me.

Is there no balm in Gil'ad? Or is there no physician there? For why has the wound of the daughter of my people not been healed?

Who will give my head water, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I may weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people?
