To Mo'av, thus says יהוה of Hosts, Elohim of Yisra'el: Woe, to Nevo, because it is devastated, Haveshah is captured; Kiryatayim is devastated, the stronghold and is shattered.

There is no more praise of Mo'av; in Ḥeshbon they planned evil against it. Come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also, Madmen, you will be silenced, sword follows you.

A voice of crying from Ḥoronayim, devastation and great destruction.

Mo'av is broken; they made its young ones cry out.

For the ascent of Halulut, with weeping it ascends with weeping; for in the descent of Ḥoronayim, enemies heard the cry of destruction.

Flee, save your lives, and you will be like a wild ass in the desert.

For because you trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also will be captured, and Kemosh will go into exile, its priests and its princes together.

And a destroyer will come to every city, and no city will escape, and the valley will perish, and the plain will be destroyed, which יהוה said.

Give a tear to Mo'av, for it will surely go out, and its villages will become a desolation, from no one dwelling in them.

Cursed is he who does the work of יהוה with slackness, and cursed is he who withholds his sword from blood.

Mo'av has been secure from its youth, and it rests on its dregs; it has not been poured from vessel to vessel, and it has not gone into exile. Therefore, its taste remains in it, and its fragrance has not changed.

Therefore, behold, days are coming, declares יהוה, and I will send to it those who pour and those who make it pour, and they will empty its vessels, and they will shatter its jars.

And Mo'av will be ashamed of Kemosh, just as the house of Yisra'el was ashamed of Beit-El, their confidence.

How can you say, 'We are mighty men and warriors for war'?

Mo'av is devastated and its villages have gone up, and its chosen young men have gone down to slaughter, declares the King, יהוה of Hosts is His name.

The disaster of Mo'av is near to come, and its ruin hastens greatly.

All its neighbors will lament for it, and all who know its name will say, 'How has the strong staff been broken, the rod of glory?'

Come down from glory and sit in thirst, inhabitant of Dibon; for the destroyer of Mo'av has come up against you; he has ruined your fortresses.

Stand by the road and watch, inhabitant of Aro'er; ask the fugitive and the escapee, say, 'What has happened?'

Mo'av is ashamed, for it is terrified. Wail and cry out; tell it in Arnon that Mo'av is devastated.

And judgment has come to the land of the plain, to Ḥolon, and to Yaḥats, and against Mepha'ath.

And against Dibon, and against Nevo, and against Beit-Diblathayim.

And against Kiryatayim, and against Beit-Gamlul, and against Beit-Me'on.

And against Keri'ot, and against Betzrah, and against all the cities of the land of Mo'av, the far and the near.

The horn of Mo'av is cut off, and its arm is broken, declares יהוה.

Make it drunk, for it has magnified itself against יהוה; and Mo'av will wallow in its vomit, and it will become a laughingstock, it too.

And was not mockery for you, Yisra'el? Or was it found among thieves? For whenever you speak of it, you shake your head.

Leave the cities and dwell in the rock, inhabitants of Mo'av, and be like a dove that nests in the sides of a pit's mouth.

We have heard of the pride of Mo'av; it is very proud; its haughtiness, and its pride, and its arrogance, and the loftiness of its heart.

I know its arrogance, declares יהוה; its boasts are not so; its deeds are not so.

Therefore, for Mo'av I will wail, and for all of Mo'av I will cry out; to the men of Kir-Ḥeres they will groan.

From the weeping of Ya'azer, I will weep for you, vine of Shivmah; your branches have crossed the sea, to the sea they reached; Ya'azer has come upon your harvest and upon your vintage; a destroyer has fallen.

And joy and gladness are gathered from the Carmel, and from the land of Mo'av; and I have made wine from the winepresses cease; no one will tread with shouts; shouts are not shouts.

From the cry of Ḥeshbon to Ele'aleh, to Yaḥats, they have raised their voice, from Tzohar to Ḥoronayim, a cry of destruction; for the waters of Nimrim will also be desolations.

And I will make an end to Mo'av, declares יהוה, the one who offers at the high place and makes sacrifice to its gods.

Therefore, my heart moans for Mo'av like flutes, and my heart moans for the men of Kir-Ḥeres like flutes; therefore, the remnant he made has perished.

For every head is bald, and every beard is shaven; on all hands are gashes, and on their loins is sackcloth.

On all the roofs of Mo'av and in its squares, all is mourning; for I have broken Mo'av like a vessel in which there is no desire, declares יהוה.

How it is terrified! They wail! How it has turned its back! Mo'av is ashamed and has become a laughingstock and a ruin to all its neighbors.

For thus says יהוה: Behold, like an eagle it will swoop, and spread its wings over Mo'av.

Keri'ot is captured, and the fortresses are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Mo'av will be on that day like the heart of a woman in labor.

And Mo'av will be destroyed from being a people, because it has magnified itself against יהוה.

Terror, and a pit, and a snare are upon you, inhabitant of Mo'av, declares יהוה.

He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit, and he who climbs out of the pit will be captured in the snare; for I will bring upon it the year of their punishment, declares יהוה.

In the shadow of Ḥeshbon, those fleeing from power stand; for fire has gone out from Ḥeshbon, and a flame from the midst of Siḥon, and it has consumed the corner of Mo'av, and the crown of the sons of tumult.

Woe to you, Mo'av! The people of Kemosh have perished; for your sons have been taken captive, and your daughters into captivity.

And I will turn back the captivity of Mo'av in the latter days, declares יהוה. Thus far is the judgment of Mo'av.
