The word which came to Yirmeyahu to all the Yehudim dwelling in the land of Mitsrayim, dwelling in Migdol, and in Taḥpanḥes, and in Nof, and in the land of Patros, saying:

Thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot, Elohim of Yisra'el: You yourselves saw all the disaster which I brought upon Yerushalayim and upon all the cities of Yehudah, and behold, they are a desolation this day, and no one dwells in them.

Because of their evil which they did to provoke Me, by going to offer incense to other elohim whom they did not know, they and your fathers.

And I sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying, 'Please do not do this abomination which I hate.'

But they did not listen, nor did they incline their ear to turn from their evil, so as not to offer incense to other elohim.

And My fury and My anger poured out and burned in the cities of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim, and they became a desolation, a waste, as this day.

And now, thus says יהוה, Elohim of Tzeva'ot, Elohim of Yisra'el: Why are you doing great evil against your own lives, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and nursling, from the midst of Yehudah, so that no remnant is left for you?

To provoke Me by the works of your hands, by offering incense to other elohim in the land of Mitsrayim, where you are going to sojourn, so that you may be cut off, and so that you may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth.

Have you forgotten the evils of your fathers, and the evils of the kings of Yehudah, and the evils of their wives, and your own evils, and the evils of your wives, which they did in the land of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim?

They were not humbled until this day, nor did they fear, nor did they walk in My torah and in My statutes which I set before you and before your fathers.

Therefore, thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot, Elohim of Yisra'el: Behold, I am setting My face against you for disaster, and to cut off all Yehudah.

And I will take the remnant of Yehudah who set their faces to go to the land of Mitsrayim to sojourn there, and they will be consumed in the land of Mitsrayim; they will fall by the sword, by famine they will be consumed, from the small to the great. By the sword and by famine they will die, and they will become an oath, a desolation, and a reproach, and a curse.

And I will punish the inhabitants of the land of Mitsrayim, as I punished Yerushalayim, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence.

And there will be no survivor or remnant for the remnant of Yehudah who are coming to sojourn there in the land of Mitsrayim, and to return to the land of Yehudah, for whom their souls long to return to dwell there; for they will not return except as fugitives.

And all the men who knew that their wives offered incense to other elohim, and all the women standing, a great assembly, and all the people dwelling in the land of Mitsrayim, in Patros, answered Yirmeyahu, saying:

The word which you spoke to us in the name of יהוה, we will not listen to you.

For we will surely do every word which came out of our mouths, to offer incense to the Queen of Heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we, our kings, and our princes did in the cities of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim, and we had plenty of bread and were well, and saw no disaster.

But from the time we stopped offering incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything, and by sword and by famine we have been consumed.

And when we offer incense to the Queen of Heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, do we make cakes for her to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?

And Yirmeyahu said to all the people, to the men and to the women, and to all the people who answered him with this word, saying:

Is it not the incense which you offered in the cities of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land? Did יהוה remember them, and did it come to His mind?

And יהוה could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your deeds, because of the abominations which you committed, and your land became a desolation, a waste, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as this day.

Because you offered incense, and because you sinned against יהוה, and did not listen to the voice of יהוה, and did not walk in His torah, and in His statutes, and in His testimonies, therefore this disaster has come upon you, as this day.

And Yirmeyahu said to all the people, and to all the women, 'Hear the word of יהוה, all Yehudah who are in the land of Mitsrayim.'

Thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot, Elohim of Yisra'el, saying: You and your wives have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands, saying, 'We will surely perform our vows which we vowed to offer incense to the Queen of Heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her.' You shall surely establish your vows and perform your vows.

Therefore, hear the word of יהוה, all Yehudah who dwell in the land of Mitsrayim: Behold, I have sworn by My great name, says יהוה, that My name shall no longer be called upon by the mouth of any man of Yehudah, saying, 'As Adonai יהוה lives,' in all the land of Mitsrayim.

Behold, I am watching over them for disaster and not for good, and all the men of Yehudah who are in the land of Mitsrayim will be consumed by sword and by famine until they are finished.

And those who escape the sword will return from the land of Mitsrayim to the land of Yehudah, a few in number, and all the remnant of Yehudah who came to sojourn in the land of Mitsrayim will know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs.

And this shall be the sign for you, says יהוה, that I am watching over you in this place, so that you may know that My words will surely stand against you for disaster.

Thus says יהוה: Behold, I am giving Pharaoh Ḥofra, king of Mitsrayim, into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, just as I gave Tsidqiyahu, king of Yehudah, into the hand of Nebukhadretstsar, king of Bavel, his enemy and the seeker of his life.
