And it happened when Yirmeyahu finished speaking to all the people all the words of יהוה their Elohim, which יהוה their Elohim had sent them, all these words.

And Azaryah son of Hoysha'yah and Yoḥanan son of Qareḥ, and all the arrogant men said to Yirmeyahu, 'A lie you are speaking. יהוה our Elohim did not send you saying, 'You shall not go into Mitsrayim to dwell there.''

'For Baruk son of Neryah is misleading you concerning us, so that you give us into the hand of the Kasdim to kill us and to exile us to Babel.'

And Yoḥanan son of Qareḥ and all the commanders of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of יהוה to dwell in the land of Yehudah.

And Yoḥanan son of Qareḥ and all the commanders of the forces took all the remnant of Yehudah who had returned from all the nations where they had been scattered, to dwell in the land of Yehudah.

The men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person whom Nevuzar'adan, captain of the guard, had left with Gedalyah son of Aḥiqam son of Shafan, and Yirmeyahu the prophet, and Baruk son of Neryah.

And they came into the land of Mitsrayim, for they did not obey the voice of יהוה, and they came as far as Taḥpanḥes.

And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu in Taḥpanḥes, saying:

'Take in your hand large stones and bury them in the mortar in the pavement which is at the entrance of Pharaoh's house in Taḥpanḥes, before the eyes of the Yehudim.'

'And you shall say to them, Thus says יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra'el, 'Behold, I am sending and I will take Nevukhadretstsar, king of Babel, my servant, and I will set his throne above these stones which I have buried, and he will spread his canopy over them.'

'And he will come and strike the land of Mitsrayim; those for death, to death; and those for captivity, to captivity; and those for the sword, to the sword.'

'And I will set fire to the houses of the elohim of Mitsrayim, and he will burn them and carry them away captive. And he will cover the land of Mitsrayim as a shepherd covers his garment, and he will go out from there in peace.'

'And he will break the pillars of the house of Shemesh which are in the land of Mitsrayim, and the houses of the elohim of Mitsrayim he will burn with fire.'
