In the ninth year of Tsidqiyahu king of Yehudah, in the tenth month, Nebukhadretstsar king of Babel and all his army came against Yerushalayim, and they encamped against it.

In the eleventh year of Tsidqiyahu, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, the city was breached.

And all the officials of the king of Babel came in and sat in the middle gate: Nergal-sar'etser, Samgar-nevo, Nergal-sar'etser Rab-saris, and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babel.

And it happened, when Tsidqiyahu king of Yehudah and all the men of war saw them, they fled, and went out by night from the city, by way of the king's garden, through the gate between the walls, and he went out by way of the plain.

And the army of the Kasdim pursued after them, and they overtook Tsidqiyahu in the plains of Yerikho, and they took him and brought him up to Nebukhadretstsar king of Babel in Rivlah, in the land of Ḥamat, and he spoke judgments against him.

And the king of Babel slaughtered the sons of Tsidqiyahu in Rivlah before his eyes, and the king of Babel slaughtered all the nobles of Yehudah.

And they blinded the eyes of Tsidqiyahu, and they bound him with bronze chains to bring him to Babel.

And the Kasdim burned the king's house and the house of the people with fire, and they broke down the walls of Yerushalayim.

And the rest of the people who remained in the city, and those who fell who had fallen to him, and the rest of the people who remained, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, exiled to Babel.

And from the poor of the people who had nothing, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, left in the land of Yehudah, and he gave them vineyards and fields on that day.

And Nebukhadretstsar king of Babel commanded concerning Yirmeyahu, by the hand of Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, saying:

Take him, and set your eyes on him, and do nothing bad to him, for as he speaks to you, so do with him.

And Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, and Nebushazban, Rab-saris, and Nergal-sar'etser, Rab-mag, and all the officials of the king of Babel sent.

And they sent and took Yirmeyahu from the courtyard of the guard, and they gave him to Gedalyahu son of Aḥiqam, son of Shafan, to bring him out to the house, and he lived among the people.

And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu while he was confined in the courtyard of the guard, saying:

Go and say to Eved-melekh the Kushite, saying, Thus says יהוה Tseva'ot, the Elohim of Yisra'el: Behold, I am bringing my words upon this city for disaster, and not for good, and they will be before you on that day.

And I will deliver you on that day, says יהוה, and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom you fear.

For I will surely deliver you, and you will not fall by the sword, and your life will be for plunder, because you trusted in me, says יהוה.
