And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu a second time while he was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, saying:

Thus says יהוה, the Maker, יהוה the Former of it, to establish it; יהוה is His Name.

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and fortified things which you have not known.

For thus says יהוה, the Elohim of Yisra'el, concerning the houses of this city and concerning the houses of the kings of Yehudah, which are broken down to the ramps and to the sword.

They come to fight against the Kasdim and to fill them with the corpses of the people whom I struck in My anger and in My wrath, and concerning whom I hid My face from this city because of all its evil.

Behold, I will bring to it healing and a remedy, and I will heal them, and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.

And I will restore the captivity of Yehudah and the captivity of Yisra'el, and I will rebuild them as at first.

And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they sinned against Me, and I will forgive all their iniquities by which they sinned against Me and by which they rebelled against Me.

And it shall be to Me for a name of joy, for praise, and for glory to all the nations of the earth, who will hear of all the good that I am doing for them, and they will fear and tremble because of all the good and because of all the peace that I am doing for it.

Thus says יהוה: Still it will be heard in this place, which you say is desolate, without man and without beast, in the cities of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim, which are laid waste, without man and without inhabitant and without beast.

The sound of joy and the sound of gladness, the sound of the bridegroom and the sound of the bride, the sound of those saying, 'Give thanks to יהוה of hosts, for יהוה is good, for His steadfast love is forever.' And they will bring thanksgiving offerings into the house of יהוה, for I will restore the land's captivity as at first, says יהוה.

Thus says יהוה of hosts: Still in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there will be pastures of shepherds resting their flocks.

In the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the lowlands, and in the cities of the Negev, and in the land of Binyamin, and around Yerushalayim, and in the cities of Yehudah, the flocks will still pass under the hand of the one who counts them, says יהוה.

Behold, days are coming, declares יהוה, and I will perform the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Yisra'el and concerning the house of Yehudah.

In those days and at that time, I will cause a shoot of righteousness to sprout for David, and he will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

In those days Yehudah will be saved, and Yerushalayim will dwell securely, and this is what she will be called: יהוה our righteousness.

For thus says יהוה: David will never lack a man sitting on the throne of the house of Yisra'el.

And for the Levitical priests, there will never be a man cut off from before Me, offering a burnt offering, and burning a grain offering, and making a sacrifice all the days.

And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu, saying:

Thus says יהוה: If you can break My covenant of the day and My covenant of the night, so that there is no day and night in their time.

Then My covenant with David My servant can also be broken, so that he will not have a son ruling on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers.

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the offspring of David My servant, and the Levites who minister to Me.

And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu, saying:

Have you not seen what this people has spoken, saying, 'The two families which יהוה chose, He has rejected them,' and 'They despise My people, so that they are no longer a nation before them'?

Thus says יהוה: If I have not established My covenant of day and night, the statutes of heaven and earth.

Then I will also reject the offspring of Ya'aqov and David My servant, so as not to take from his offspring rulers over the offspring of Avraham, Yitsḥaq, and Ya'aqov, for I will restore their captivity and have compassion on them.
