At that time, declares יהוה, I will be to Elohim for all the families of Yisra'el, and they will be to me for a people.

Thus says יהוה: A people who survived the sword found favor in the wilderness, Yisra'el going to find rest.

From afar, יהוה appeared to me. With an everlasting love, I have loved you; therefore, I have drawn you with kindness.

Again I will build you, and you will be built, virgin Yisra'el. Again you will adorn your tambourines, and you will go out in dances of celebration.

Again you will plant vineyards on the mountains of Shomron. The planters will plant and then enjoy the fruit.

For there is a day when watchmen will call out on the mountains of Efrayim: 'Rise up, and let us go up to Tsiyon, to יהוה our Elohim.'

For thus says יהוה: Sing with joy for Ya'aqov, and shout for the chief of the nations. Proclaim, praise, and say, 'יהוה has saved your people, the remnant of Yisra'el.'

Behold, I am bringing them from the land of the north, and I will gather them from the ends of the earth. Among them will be the blind and the lame, the pregnant woman and she who is in labor, together. A great assembly will return here.

With weeping they will come, and with supplications I will lead them. I will lead them to streams of water in a straight way; they will not stumble in it. For I have been a father to Yisra'el, and Efrayim is my firstborn.

Hear the word of יהוה, O nations, and proclaim it in distant islands, and say, 'He who scattered Yisra'el will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd does his flock.'

For יהוה has redeemed Ya'aqov, and has ransomed him from a hand stronger than he.

They will come and sing for joy on the heights of Tsiyon, and they will stream to the goodness of יהוה, for grain, for new wine, for oil, and for the young of the flock and the herd. Their souls will be like a well-watered garden, and they will no longer grieve.

Then the virgin will rejoice in dance, and the young men and the old men together. For I will turn their mourning into joy, and I will comfort them and make them joyful from their sorrow.

I will satisfy the souls of the priests with abundance, and my people will be satisfied with my goodness, declares יהוה.

Thus says יהוה: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.

Thus says יהוה: Restrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work, declares יהוה, and they will return from the land of the enemy.

And there is hope for your future, declares יהוה, and your children will return to their own land.

I have surely heard Efrayim lamenting, 'You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined, like an untrained calf. Turn me back, and I will return, for you are יהוה my Elohim.'

For after I turned back, I repented. And after I was made known, I struck my thigh. I was ashamed and also humiliated, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.

Is Efrayim a precious son to me? Is he a child of delight? For as often as I speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore, my insides churn for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares יהוה.

Set up for yourself markers, place for yourself signposts. Set your heart toward the highway, the road on which you traveled. Return, virgin Yisra'el, return to these cities of yours.

How long will you wander, O rebellious daughter? For יהוה has created a new thing on the earth: a woman will encompass a man.

Thus says יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra'el: They will again say this word in the land of Yehudah and in its cities, when I restore their fortunes: 'יהוה will bless you, O dwelling place of righteousness, O mountain of holiness.'

And Yehudah and all its cities will dwell in it together, farmers and those who travel with the flock.

For I will satisfy the thirsty soul, and I will fill every grieving soul.

On this account I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.

Behold, days are coming, declares יהוה, and I will sow the house of Yisra'el and the house of Yehudah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.

And it will be, just as I watched over them to uproot and to tear down, to overthrow, to destroy, and to bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares יהוה.

In those days they will not say anymore, 'Fathers ate unripe grapes, and the teeth of children are set on edge.'

But each one will die for his own iniquity; the teeth of everyone who eats unripe grapes will be set on edge.

Behold, days are coming, declares יהוה, and I will make a new covenant with the house of Yisra'el and with the house of Yehudah.

Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, which they broke, though I was their master, declares יהוה.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Yisra'el after those days, declares יהוה: I will put my law within them, and on their hearts I will write it. And I will be their Elohim, and they will be my people.

And no longer will each man teach his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know יהוה,' for they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares יהוה. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Thus says יהוה, who gives the sun for light by day, the statutes of the moon and stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; יהוה of hosts is his name.

If these statutes depart from before me, declares יהוה, then the offspring of Yisra'el will also cease from being a nation before me forever.

Thus says יהוה: If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be searched out, then I will also reject all the offspring of Yisra'el for all that they have done, declares יהוה.

Behold, days are coming, declares יהוה, and the city will be rebuilt for יהוה from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.

And the measuring line will go out further opposite it, to the hill of Gareb, and will turn toward Goath.

And the whole valley of the corpses and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook of Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate eastward, shall be holy to יהוה. It will not be uprooted or overthrown anymore forever.
