In the beginning of the reign of Yehoyaqim son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, this word came to Yirmeyahu from יהוה, saying:

Thus said יהוה to me: Make for yourself straps and bars, and put them on your neck.

And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Mo'av, and to the king of the sons of 'Ammon, and to the king of Tzor, and to the king of Tsidon, by the hand of messengers coming to Yerushalayim to Tsidqiyahu, king of Yehudah.

And command them to their masters, saying: Thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot, Elohim of Yisra'el: Thus you shall say to your masters.

I made the earth, the Adam, and the beast that is on the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I gave it to whomever is right in my eyes.

And now, I have given all these lands into the hand of Nevukhadnetstsar, king of Bavel, my servant, and even the wild beasts I have given to him to serve him.

And all the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his land also comes, and many nations and great kings shall serve him.

And it shall be, the nation and the kingdom that will not serve him, Nevukhadnetstsar, king of Bavel, and that will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Bavel, by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence I will visit upon that nation, says יהוה, until I finish them by his hand.

And you, do not listen to your prophets, and to your diviners, and to your dreams, and to your soothsayers, and to your sorceries, who say to you, saying: You shall not serve the king of Bavel.

Because they prophesy falsely to you, so that I may remove you from your land, and I will drive you out, and you will perish.

And the nation that will bring its neck under the yoke of the king of Bavel and serve him, I will let it rest on its land, says יהוה, and it shall work it and dwell in it.

And to Tsidqiyahu, king of Yehudah, I spoke all these words, saying: Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Bavel, and serve him and his people, and live.

Why will you die, you and your people, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as יהוה spoke to the nation that will not serve the king of Bavel?

And do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, saying: You shall not serve the king of Bavel, because they prophesy falsely to you.

Because I have not sent them, says יהוה, and they prophesy in my name falsely, so that I may drive you out, and you will perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.

And to the priests and to all this people I spoke, saying: Thus says יהוה: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying: Behold, the vessels of the house of יהוה are being returned from Bavel now, quickly. Because they prophesy falsely to you.

Do not listen to them; serve the king of Bavel, and live. Why will this city become a ruin?

And if they are prophets, and if there is a word of יהוה with them, let them plead now with יהוה Tzeva'ot, so that the vessels remaining in the house of יהוה, and in the house of the king of Yehudah, and in Yerushalayim, do not go to Bavel.

Because thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the stands, and concerning the rest of the vessels that remain in this city.

Which Nevukhadnetstsar, king of Bavel, did not take when he exiled [Yekhonya] (Yekhonya), son of Yehoyaqim, king of Yehudah, from Yerushalayim to Bavel, and all the nobles of Yehudah and Yerushalayim.

Because thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot, Elohim of Yisra'el, concerning the vessels remaining in the house of יהוה, and in the house of the king of Yehudah, and in Yerushalayim.

To Bavel they shall be brought, and there they shall be until the day I visit them, says יהוה, and I will bring them up and return them to this place.
