The word which came to Yirmeyahu concerning all the people of Yehudah in the fourth year of Yehoyaqim son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah; this was the first year of Nevukhadretstsar, king of Bavel.

Which Yirmeyahu the prophet spoke to all the people of Yehudah and to all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, saying:

From the thirteenth year of Yoshiyahu son of Amon, king of Yehudah, until this day, these twenty-three years the word of יהוה has been to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not listened.

And יהוה sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

Saying, Return, please, each one from his evil way and from your evil deeds, and return to the land which יהוה gave to you and to your fathers from of old and forever.

And do not go after other elohim to serve them and to bow to them, and do not provoke me with the works of your hands, and I will not do evil to you.

And you have not listened to me, declares יהוה, in order to provoke me with the works of your hands to do evil to you.

Therefore, thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot: Because you have not listened to my words,

Behold, I am sending and I will take all the families of the north, declares יהוה, and to Nevukhadretstsar, king of Bavel, my servant, and I will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these nations around, and I will utterly destroy them and make them a desolation and a hissing and eternal ruins.

And I will cause to perish from them the sound of rejoicing and the sound of gladness, the sound of the groom and the sound of the bride, the sound of millstones and the light of a lamp.

And all this land will become a desolation, a ruin, and these nations will serve the king of Bavel seventy years.

And it will be, when seventy years are completed, I will punish the king of Bavel and that nation, declares יהוה, for their iniquity, and the land of the Kasdim, and I will make it eternal desolations.

And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, which Yirmeyahu prophesied against all the nations.

For many nations and great kings will also serve them, and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the works of their hands.

For thus says יהוה, the Elohim of Yisra'el, to me: Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand and make all the nations to which I am sending you drink it.

And they will drink and reel and act madly because of the sword which I am sending among them.

And I took the cup from the hand of יהוה and made all the nations drink to which יהוה sent me:

Yerushalayim and the cities of Yehudah and its kings and its officials, to make them a desolation, a ruin, a hissing and a curse, as this day.

Par'oh, king of Mitsrayim, and his servants and his officials and all his people.

And all the Arabs and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Pelishtim, and Ashqelon and Azzah and 'Eqron and the remnant of Ashdod.

Edom and Mo'av and the sons of 'Ammon.

And all the kings of Tzor and all the kings of Tsidon and the kings of the island which is across the sea.

And Dedan and Tema and Buz and all who cut the corners of their hair.

And all the kings of 'Arav and all the kings of the East who dwell in the desert.

And all the kings of Zimri and all the kings of 'Elam and all the kings of Madai.

And all the kings of the north, near and far, each one with his brother, and all the kingdoms of the earth which are on the face of the ground, and the king of Sheshakh will drink after them.

And you will say to them: Thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot, the Elohim of Yisra'el: Drink and get drunk and vomit and fall and do not rise because of the sword which I am sending among you.

And it will be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you will say to them: Thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot: You shall surely drink.

For behold, in the city on which my name is called, I am beginning to do evil, and you, you will be utterly punished; you will not be utterly punished, for I am calling a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, declares יהוה Tzeva'ot.

And you will prophesy to them all these words and say to them: יהוה will roar from on high and from his holy dwelling he will give forth his voice; he will roar mightily against his pasture; a shout like those who tread grapes against all the inhabitants of the earth.

A clamor has come to the end of the earth, for יהוה has a controversy with the nations; he is judging all flesh; the wicked he has given to the sword, declares יהוה.

Thus says יהוה Tzeva'ot: Behold, evil is going forth from nation to nation, and a great storm is stirring from the ends of the earth.

And the slain of יהוה on that day will be from one end of the earth to the other; they will not be mourned, nor gathered, nor buried; they will be like dung on the face of the ground.

Wail, you shepherds, and cry out, and roll yourselves in the dust, you mighty ones of the flock, for your days for slaughter have been fulfilled, and I will scatter you, and you will fall like a precious vessel.

And flight will perish from the shepherds, and escape from the mighty ones of the flock.

The sound of the cry of the shepherds and the wailing of the mighty ones of the flock, for יהוה is destroying their pasture.

And the peaceful pastures will be ruined because of the fierce anger of יהוה.

He has forsaken his shelter like a young lion, for their land has become a desolation because of the fierceness of the dove and because of his fierce anger.
