And it came to pass in the days of Aḥaz son of Yotam son of ‘Uzziyahu, king of Yehudah, that Reṣin, king of Aram, and Peqaḥ son of Remalyahu, king of Yisra'el, went up to Yerushalayim for war against it, and he was not able to war against it.

And it was told to the house of David, saying, Aram has rested upon Efrayim, and his heart and the heart of his people moved, like the moving of trees of the forest because of the wind.

And יהוה said to Yesha'yahu, Go out now to meet Aḥaz, you and your son She'ar Yashuv, to the end of the channel of the upper pool, to the highway of the fuller's field.

And you shall say to him, Take heed, and be quiet; do not fear, and let your heart not be faint because of the two tails of these smoking firebrands, because of the burning anger of Reṣin and Aram and the son of Remalyahu.

Because Aram has planned evil against you, Efrayim and the son of Remalyahu, saying:

We will go up against Yehudah and distress it, and we will break it open for ourselves, and we will make a king in its midst, the son of Ṭav'al.

Thus says Adonai יהוה, It shall not stand, and it shall not be.

For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Reṣin; and within sixty-five years Efrayim shall be crushed from being a people.

And the head of Efrayim is Shomron, and the head of Shomron is the son of Remalyahu; if you do not believe, surely you shall not be established.

And יהוה spoke again to Aḥaz, saying:

Ask for yourself a sign from יהוה your Elohim; make it deep, or make it high.

And Aḥaz said, I will not ask, and I will not test יהוה.

And he said, Hear now, house of David; is it too little for you to weary men, that you also weary my Elohim?

Therefore, Adonai himself will give you a sign: Behold, the young woman is pregnant and will give birth to a son, and you shall call his name Immanuel.

Curds and honey he will eat, so that he may know to reject evil and choose good.

For before the boy knows to reject evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread shall be forsaken.

יהוה will bring upon you, and upon your people, and upon your father's house, days that have not come since the day that Efrayim departed from Yehudah; even the king of Assyria.

And it shall come to pass on that day, that יהוה will whistle for the fly that is in the farthest part of the rivers of Mitsrayim, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

And they shall come, and they shall rest all of them in the valleys of the torrents, and in the clefts of the rocks, and in all the thorn bushes, and in all the watering places.

On that day, Adonai will shave with a razor hired beyond the River, with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the legs, and it will also remove the beard.

And it shall come to pass on that day, that a man will keep alive a young cow and two sheep.

And it shall be, from the abundance of milk they produce, he will eat curds; for curds and honey everyone remaining in the midst of the land will eat.

And it shall come to pass on that day, that every place where there were a thousand vines for a thousand pieces of silver shall become briars and thorns.

With arrows and with a bow he shall come there, because briars and thorns shall be all the land.

And all the hills that were cultivated with the hoe, you shall not go there for fear of briars and thorns; and it shall be for the sending out of oxen and for the treading of sheep.
