In the year of the death of King Uzziyahu, I saw Adonai sitting on a high and lifted-up throne, and His train filled the temple.

Seraphim were standing above Him; each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

And one called to another and said, 'Holy, holy, holy is יהוה of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.'

And the bases of the thresholds shook at the voice of the one calling, and the house was filled with smoke.

And I said, 'Woe is me! For I am silenced, because I am a man of unclean lips, and in the midst of a people of unclean lips I dwell, because my eyes have seen the King, יהוה of hosts.'

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal, which he had taken with tongs from off the altar.

And he touched my mouth with it and said, 'Behold, this has touched your lips, and your iniquity is removed, and your sin is atoned for.'

And I heard the voice of Adonai saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here I am; send me.'

And He said, 'Go, and you shall say to this people, 'Hear indeed, but do not understand; see indeed, but do not perceive.'

Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn, and be healed.'

Then I said, 'Until when, Adonai?' And He said, 'Until the cities lie waste without inhabitants, and houses without people, and the land is utterly desolate.'

And יהוה will remove mankind far away, and the desolation will be great in the midst of the land.

And still in it a tenth part will remain, and it will turn to be burned, like an oak or a terebinth, when it is felled; the holy seed is its stump.'
