As fire causes water to boil, as fire makes water bubble up, to make known your name to your enemies, nations tremble before you.

When you did awesome deeds we did not expect, you came down, mountains flowed before you.

And from of old no one has heard, no one has listened, no eye has seen an Elohim besides you, who acts for the one who waits for him.

You met the one who rejoices and does righteousness, in your ways they remember you. Indeed, you were angry and we sinned; in them we are eternally condemned.

And we became like the unclean, all of us, and all our righteous deeds like a menstrual cloth. And we withered like a leaf, all of us, and our iniquities carried us away like the wind.

And there is no one calling on your name, rousing himself to hold onto you, for you hid your face from us and dissolved us by the hand of our iniquities.

And now, יהוה, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are our Potter, and all of us are the work of your hands.

Do not be very angry, יהוה, and do not remember iniquity forever. Look, please, all of us are your people.

Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Tsiyon a wilderness, Yerushalayim a desolation.

Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, became a burnt offering, and all our delights became a ruin.

Because of all these things, will you restrain yourself, יהוה? Will you be silent and afflict us exceedingly?
