Who is this coming from Edom, dyed garments from Bozrah? This one, glorious in his clothing, marching in the fullness of his strength. I am speaking in righteousness, greatly able to save.

Why is your clothing red, and your garments like those treading in a winepress?

I trod a winepress alone, and from the peoples, no man was with me. And I trod them in my anger, and I crushed them in my fury. And their lifeblood splattered on my garments, and all my clothing I stained.

For a day of vengeance is in my heart, and the year of my redemption has come.

And I looked, and there was no helper. And I was astonished, and there was no supporter. And my own arm saved me, and my fury, it supported me.

And I trampled peoples in my anger, and I made them drunk in my fury, and I brought their lifeblood down to the earth.

The loyal love of יהוה I will remember, the praises of יהוה, according to all that יהוה has rewarded us, and the great goodness to the house of Yisra'el, which he has rewarded them, according to his compassion and according to the abundance of his loyal love.

And he said, 'Surely, they are my people, sons who will not lie.' And he became their savior.

In all their distress, he was distressed. And the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his compassion, he redeemed them. And he lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. And he turned to be an enemy to them; he fought against them.

And he remembered the days of old, Mosheh, his people. Where are the ones who brought them up from the sea? The shepherd of his flock? Where is the one who put his Holy Spirit in their midst?

Leading to the right of Mosheh, the arm of his glory. Splitting waters before them, to make for himself an everlasting name.

Leading them through the depths like a horse in the desert; they will not stumble.

Like livestock descending into the valley, the Spirit of יהוה gave them rest. So you led your people to make for yourself a glorious name.

Look from heaven and see from your holy dwelling and your glory. Where is your zeal and your mighty deeds? The abundance of your compassion and your mercies toward me, they are restrained.

For you are our Father. For Avraham does not know us, and Yisra'el does not recognize us. You, יהוה, are our Father; our Redeemer from of old is your name.

Why do you cause us to wander, יהוה, from your ways? Why do you harden our hearts from your fear? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance.

For a short time your holy people possessed it. Our enemies have trampled your sanctuary.

We have been from of old; you have not ruled over them. Your name has not been called upon them. If only you would tear the heavens and come down; before you the mountains would melt.
