Sing, barren one who did not give birth; cry out, you who did not travail. For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman, says יהוה.

Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwelling; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.

For you will spread out to the right and to the left, and your offspring will inherit nations and will cause desolate cities to be inhabited.

Do not fear, for you will not be shamed, and do not be embarrassed, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will not remember anymore.

For your makers are your husbands; יהוה of hosts is His name, and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Yisra'el; the Elohim of all the earth He will be called.

For like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, יהוה has called you, and like a wife of youth who is rejected, says your Elohim.

For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you.

In a surge of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I have had compassion on you, says your Redeemer יהוה.

For this is like the waters of Noaḥ to Me, concerning which I swore that the waters of Noaḥ would never again cover the earth; so I have sworn not to be angry with you or to rebuke you.

For the mountains may depart and the hills may be removed, but My kindness will not depart from you, nor will My covenant of peace be removed, says יהוה who has compassion on you.

Afflicted one, tossed by the storm, without comfort, behold, I will lay your stones with turquoise and lay your foundations with sapphires.

And I will make your battlements of rubies and your gates of precious stones, and all your border of desirable stones.

And all your children will be taught by יהוה, and great will be the peace of your children.

In righteousness you will be established; be far from oppression, for you will not fear, and from destruction, for it will not come near you.

Behold, if anyone incites trouble, it is not from Me; whoever incites trouble against you will fall because of you.

Behold, I have created the smith who blows the coals in the fire and brings forth a weapon for its purpose; and I have created the destroyer to ruin.

No weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of יהוה, and their righteousness is from Me, says יהוה.
