Come near, nations, to hear, and peoples, pay attention. Let the earth hear, and its fullness, the world, and all its offspring.

For יהוה's fury is upon all nations, and His wrath upon all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them; He has given them to slaughter.

And their slain will be thrown out, and their carcasses will go up as a stench, and the mountains will melt from their blood.

And all the host of heaven will rot away, and the heavens will be rolled up like a scroll. And all their host will fall like a leaf from a vine, and like a falling fig from a fig tree.

For My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; behold, it will come down upon Edom, and upon the people of My destruction, for judgment.

The sword of יהוה is full of blood; it is gorged with fat, from the blood of lambs and he-goats, from the fat of the kidneys of rams. For יהוה has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

And wild oxen will go down with them, and bulls with the mighty ones. And their land will be drunk with blood, and their soil will be gorged with fat.

For it is a day of vengeance for יהוה, a year of recompense for the cause of Tsiyon.

And its streams will be turned into pitch, and its soil into sulfur, and its land will become burning pitch.

Night and day it will not be quenched; its smoke will rise forever. From generation to generation it will be desolate; no one will pass through it forever and ever.

But the pelican and the porcupine will possess it, and the owl and the raven will dwell in it. And He will stretch over it the measuring line of chaos and the plummet of emptiness.

They will call for its nobles to nothingness; there will be no kingdom, and all its princes will be as if they were not.

And thorns will come up in its palaces, nettles and brambles in its fortresses. And it will become a dwelling place for jackals, a court for ostriches.

And desert creatures will meet with wild dogs, and a wild goat will call to its kind. Yes, the night creature will settle there and find for itself a resting place.

There the screech owl has nested and found for itself a resting place. It has hatched and multiplied in its shade. Indeed, the vultures have gathered there, each with its mate.

Seek from the scroll of יהוה and read: Not one of these will be missing; none will lack its mate. For His mouth has commanded, and His Spirit has gathered them.

And He has cast for them a lot, and His hand has divided it for them by the measuring line. They will possess it forever; they will dwell in it from generation to generation.
