Woe, despoiler, and you not despoiled, and betrayer, and they did not betray him. When you finish despoiling, you will be despoiled; when you finish betraying, they will betray you.

יהוה, be gracious to us; for you we have waited. Be our strength every morning, also our salvation in the time of trouble.

From the sound of the multitude, nations fled; from your rising up, peoples scattered.

And your spoil will be gathered, the gathering of the locust; as the leaping of the swarms, he leaps upon it.

יהוה is exalted, for he dwells on high; he has filled Tsiyon with justice and righteousness.

And there will be the faithfulness of your times, a strength of salvations, wisdom and knowledge; the fear of יהוה, this is his treasure.

Behold, their heroes cried out in the street; the messengers of peace weep bitterly.

The highways are desolate; the traveler has ceased. He has broken the covenant; he has despised the cities; he has not regarded man.

The land mourns and is ashamed; the Lebanon is disgraced; the Sharon has become like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel are stripped bare.

Now I will arise, says יהוה; now I will be exalted; now I will lift myself up.

You conceive dry grass; you will give birth to stubble; your spirit is a fire that will consume you.

And the peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns cut down, set ablaze in fire.

Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and you who are near, know my might.

The sinners in Tsiyon are terrified; the hypocrites are seized with trembling. Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?

He who walks in righteousness and speaks uprightly, who despises gain from oppression, who shakes his hands from holding a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking at evil.

He will dwell on high; his fortress will be the rocks of the strongholds; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.

Your eyes will see the King in his beauty; they will see a land that is far off.

Your heart will meditate on terror. Where is the scribe? Where is the weigher? Where is the one who counts the towers?

You will not see a fierce people, a people of deep speech that you cannot understand, of a foreign tongue that you cannot hear.

Look at Tsiyon, the city of our appointed feasts; your eyes will see Yerushalayim, a peaceful habitation, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be removed, nor any of its cords be broken.

But there יהוה will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, where no galley with oars will go, nor any majestic ship will pass.

For יהוה is our judge; יהוה is our lawgiver; יהוה is our King; he will save us.

Your ropes are loosened; they cannot hold their mast firm; they cannot spread the sail. Then the spoil will be divided, abundant spoil; even the lame will take the prey.

And no inhabitant will say, 'I am sick'; the people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.
