Look, for righteousness a king will reign, and for officials, for justice they will lead.

And a man will be like a hiding place from wind, and a shelter from a downpour, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a heavy rock in a parched land.

And the eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will pay attention.

And the heart of the hasty will understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak clearly.

No longer will the fool be called noble, and the scoundrel will not be called generous.

For the fool will speak foolishness, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to speak error against יהוה, to empty the hungry soul, and to withhold drink from the thirsty.

And the scoundrel's devices are evil; he plots wicked schemes to destroy the afflicted with false words, and with speaking judgment for the needy.

But the noble one plots noble deeds, and he will stand by noble deeds.

You complacent women, rise up; hear my voice. You confident daughters, give ear to my saying.

In a year and more, you confident ones will tremble; for the harvest will fail, the gathering will not come.

Tremble, you complacent ones; be agitated, you confident ones. Strip yourselves bare, and put on sackcloth on your loins.

Mourn over breasts, mourn over desirable fields, over the fruitful vine.

Over the land of my people thorns and thistles will grow, for over all the houses of joy, the exultant city.

For the palace is forsaken, the multitude of the city is abandoned; the stronghold and the watchtower will be for dens forever, a joy for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks.

Until the spirit is poured out on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted as a forest.

Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness will live in the fruitful field.

And the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

And my people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, and in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

And hail will fall when the forest comes down, and the city will be humbled in the lowlands.

Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, who let loose the feet of the ox and the donkey.
