These are the final words of David, the utterance of David, son of Yishai, and the utterance of the man raised up, the anointed of the Elohim of Ya'aqov, and the sweet singer of Yisra'el.

The spirit of יהוה spoke through me, and His word was on my tongue.

The Elohim of Yisra'el spoke to me; the Rock of Yisra'el said to me, 'The ruler over mankind, righteous, rules in the fear of Elohim.'

Like the light of morning, when the sun shines, a morning without clouds, from the brightness after rain, the grass from the earth.

For is not my house so with Elohim? For He has made an everlasting covenant with me, ordered in all things and secured. For all my salvation and all my desire, He does not cause it to sprout.

But the worthless, like thorns are all of them cast away, for they cannot be taken by hand.

And a man touches them, he is filled with iron, and the staff of a spear, and with fire they are burned up, completely.

These are the names of the mighty warriors who belonged to David: Yoshiv, the Shokhmani, chief of the Shalishi. He, Adino the Etzni, over eight hundred slain at one time.

And he said, 'Far be it from me, יהוה, to do this! Is this not the blood of the men who went at the risk of their lives?' And he refused to drink it. These things the three mighty warriors did.

And Avishai, brother of Yo'av, son of Tseruyah, he was chief of the Thirty. And he brandished his spear against three hundred slain, and he had a name among the Thirty.

From the Thirty, he was more distinguished, and he became their captain, but he did not reach the first Thirty.

And Benayahu, son of Yehoyada, son of a man of great deeds, from Qabtse'el, he struck down the two 'ari'el of Mo'av. And he went down and struck down the lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.

And he struck down an Egyptian man, a man of striking appearance. And in the hand of the Egyptian was a spear, and he went down to him with a staff and snatched the spear from the Egyptian's hand and killed him with his own spear.

These things Benayahu, son of Yehoyada, did, and he had a name among the three mighty warriors.
