And David spoke to יהוה the words of this song, on the day יהוה delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Sha'ul.

And he said, יהוה is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer for me.

My Elohim, my rock, in him I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high place, and my refuge, my savior; from violence you save me.

Praised, I will call יהוה, and from my enemies I will be saved.

For the breakers of death surrounded me, the streams of worthlessness terrified me.

The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me.

In distress I called יהוה, and to my Elohim I called; and he heard from his temple my voice, and my cry in his ears.

And the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the heavens shook and quaked, because he was angry.

Smoke went up in his nostrils, and fire from his mouth consumed; coals burned from him.

And he bowed the heavens and came down, and darkness was under his feet.

And he rode on a cherub and flew, and appeared on the wings of the wind.

And he made darkness his surrounding, shelters of water, clouds of the skies.

From the brightness before him, coals of fire burned.

יהוה thundered from the heavens, and the Most High gave his voice.

And he sent arrows and scattered them; lightning and struck them.

And the channels of the sea appeared; the foundations of the world were revealed, at the rebuke of יהוה, from the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were stronger than me.

They confronted me on the day of my calamity, and יהוה was a support for me.

And he brought me out into a wide place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

יהוה rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he repaid me.

For I kept the ways of יהוה, and did not act wickedly against my Elohim.

For all his judgments were before me, and his statutes I did not turn away from.

And I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.

And יהוה repaid me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before his eyes.

With the faithful you show yourself faithful; with the blameless man you show yourself blameless.

With the pure you show yourself pure; and with the crooked you show yourself contrary.

And the afflicted people you save; and your eyes are on the haughty, you bring them low.

For you are my lamp, יהוה; and יהוה illuminates my darkness.

For by you I run through a troop; by my Elohim I leap over a wall.

The Elohim, his way is perfect; the word of יהוה is tried; he is a shield to all who take refuge in him.

For who is Elohim except יהוה? And who is a rock except our Elohim?

The Elohim is my strength, my might, and he makes my way perfect.

He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me on my high places.

He teaches my hands for war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.

And you have given me the shield of your salvation, and your answer has made me great.

You enlarge my steps under me, and my ankles did not slip.

I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, and I did not turn back until they were consumed.

And I consumed them and crushed them, and they did not rise; they fell under my feet.

And you girded me with strength for battle; you brought my adversaries under me.

My enemies you gave my neck; my haters, and I will cut them off.

They looked for salvation, and there was no deliverer, to יהוה, and he did not answer.

And I crushed them like the dust of the earth; like the mud of the streets I trampled them, I beat them down.

And you delivered me from the disputes of my people; you kept me as head of nations; a people I did not know served me.

Sons of foreigners pretended to me; at the hearing of the ear they obeyed me.

Sons of foreigners faded away, and they hobbled from their enclosures.

יהוה lives, and blessed is my Rock, and exalted be my Elohim, the Rock of my salvation.

The Elohim who gives vengeance for me, and brings peoples down under me.

And he brings me out from my enemies; and from those who rise against me you lift me up; from a man of violence you save me.

Therefore I will give thanks to you, יהוה, among the nations, and to your name I will sing.

He is the great deliverer of his king, and shows kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring forever.
