And there was a famine in the days of David, three years, year after year. And David sought the face of יהוה. And יהוה spoke, 'Concerning Sha'ul and concerning the house of bloodshed, because he put to death the Giv'onites.'

And the king called the Giv'onites, and the Giv'onites said to him, 'They are not from the sons of Yisra'el, but from the remnant of the Emori. And the sons of Yisra'el had sworn to them. And Sha'ul sought to strike them in his zeal for the sons of Yisra'el and Yehudah.'

And David said to the Giv'onites, 'What shall I do for you? And with what shall I make atonement? And bless the inheritance of יהוה.'

And the Giv'onites said to him, 'We have no silver and gold with Sha'ul and with his house. And we have no man to put to death in Yisra'el.' And he said, 'What do you say? I will do for you.'

And they said to the king, 'The man who destroyed us, and who plotted against us, that we be destroyed from standing in all the territory of Yisra'el.'

'Let be given to us seven men from his sons, and we will impale them to יהוה in the hill of Sha'ul, the chosen of יהוה.' And the king said, 'I will give.'

And the king spared Mephibosheth, son of Yonatan, son of Sha'ul, because of the oath of יהוה which was between them, between David and between Yonatan, son of Sha'ul.

And the king took the two sons of Rizpah, daughter of Ayah, whom she bore to Sha'ul, Armoni and Mephibosheth, and the five sons of Michal, daughter of Sha'ul, whom she bore to Adriel, son of Barzillai the Meḥolati.

And he gave them into the hand of the Giv'onites, and they impaled them on the mountain before יהוה. And they fell, all seven together. And they were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first of the barley harvest.

And Rizpah, daughter of Ayah, took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock from the beginning of harvest until water was poured on them from the sky. And she did not allow the birds of the sky to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.

And it was told to David what Rizpah, daughter of Ayah, concubine of Sha'ul, had done.

And David went and took the bones of Sha'ul and the bones of Yonatan his son from the men of Yavesh Gil'ad, who had stolen them from the public square of Beit-Shan, where the Pelishtim had hanged them, on the day the Pelishtim struck Sha'ul in Gilboa.

And he brought up from there the bones of Sha'ul and the bones of Yonatan his son, and they gathered the bones of the impaled ones.

And they buried the bones of Sha'ul and Yonatan his son in the land of Binyamin, in Tzela, in the grave of Kish his father. And they did all that the king commanded. And Elohim was appeased toward the land after this.

And there was again war with the Pelishtim against Yisra'el. And David went down, and his servants with him, and they fought against the Pelishtim. And David grew weary.

And Yishbi-Benov, who was of the sons of the giant, and the weight of his spear was three hundred shekels of bronze, and he was girded with a new sword, and he said to strike David.

And Avishai, son of Zeruiah, helped him, and he struck the Pelishti and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, 'You shall not go out again with us to war, lest you extinguish the lamp of Yisra'el.'

And it happened after this, and there was again war in Gov with the Pelishtim. Then Sibbechai the Ḥushati struck Saf, who was of the sons of the giant.

And there was again war in Gov with the Pelishtim. And Elḥanan, son of Ya'arei-Orgim the Beit-Leḥemi, struck Goliath the Gitti. And the wood of his spear was like the beam of weavers.

And there was again war in Gat. And there was a man of great stature, and the fingers of his hands and the fingers of his feet were six and six, twenty-four in number. And he also was born to the giant.

And he taunted Yisra'el. And Yonatan, son of Shim'i, brother of David, struck him.

These four were born to the giant in Gat. And they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
