And it came to pass in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, that Nebukhadne'tser, king of Babel, he and all his army, came against Yerushalayim, and encamped against it, and they built against it a siege rampart all around.

And the city came under siege until the eleventh year of king Tsidkiyahu.

On the ninth of the month, and the famine grew strong in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

And the city was breached, and all the men of war, by night, through the gate between the walls which is by the king's garden, and the Kasdim were against the city all around, and he went the way of the Aravah.

And the army of the Kasdim pursued after the king, and they overtook him in the plains of Yeriḥo, and all his army scattered from him.

And they seized the king, and they brought him up to the king of Babel in Riblah, and they spoke judgment with him.

And they slaughtered the sons of Tsidkiyahu before his eyes, and they blinded the eyes of Tsidkiyahu, and they bound him with bronze chains, and they brought him to Babel.

And in the fifth month, on the seventh of the month, that is the nineteenth year of Nebukhadne'tser, king of Babel, Nebuzar'adan, chief of the bodyguards, servant of the king of Babel, came to Yerushalayim.

And he burned the House of יהוה, and the king's house, and all the houses of Yerushalayim, and every great house he burned with fire.

And the walls of Yerushalayim all around, all the army of the Kasdim who were with the chief of the bodyguards, tore them down.

And the rest of the people who remained in the city, and the fallen who had fallen to the king of Babel, and the rest of the multitude, Nebuzar'adan, chief of the bodyguards, exiled them.

And from the poor of the land, the chief of the bodyguards left some as vinedressers and as farmers.

And the bronze pillars which were in the House of יהוה, and the bases, and the bronze sea which was in the House of יהוה, the Kasdim broke them, and they carried their bronze to Babel.

And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the bronze vessels with which they served, they took.

And the fire pans, and the basins, which were pure gold, and which were pure silver, Nebuzar'adan, chief of the bodyguards, took.

The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases which Shelomoh made for the House of יהוה, there was no weight for the bronze of all these vessels.

Eighteen cubits was the height of the one pillar, and a capital of bronze on it, and the height of the capital was three cubits, and a network and pomegranates on the capital all around, all bronze, and like these for the second pillar, on the network.

And Nebuzar'adan, chief of the bodyguards, took Serayah, the chief priest, and Tsfanyahu, the deputy priest, and the three gatekeepers.

And from the city he took one eunuch who was in charge of the men of war, and five men of the king's presence who were found in the city, and the scribe, the captain of the army who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the city.

And Nebuzar'adan, chief of the bodyguards, took them and brought them to the king of Babel in Riblah.

And the king of Babel struck them and killed them in Riblah, in the land of Ḥamath, and Yehudah was exiled from its soil.

And the people who remained in the land of Yehudah, whom Nebukhadne'tser, king of Babel, had left, and he appointed over them Gedalyahu, son of Aḥiqam, son of Shafan.

And all the commanders of the armies heard, they and their men, that the king of Babel had appointed Gedalyahu, and they came to Gedalyahu at Mizpah, and Yishma'el, son of Netanyahu, and Yoḥanan, son of Qareḥ, and Serayah, son of Tanḥumeth the Netophathite, and Ya'azanyahu, son of the Ma'akathite, they and their men.

And Gedalyahu swore to them and to their men, and he said to them, 'Do not fear the servants of the Kasdim; dwell in the land and serve the king of Babel, and it will be well for you.'

And it came to pass in the seventh month, Yishma'el, son of Netanyahu, son of Elisama, of the royal line, came, and ten men with him, and they struck Gedalyahu, and he died, and the Yehudim, and the Kasdim who were with him at Mizpah.

And all the people, from small to great, and the commanders of the armies, arose and went to Mitsrayim, because they feared because of the Kasdim.

And it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Yehoyakhin, king of Yehudah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh of the month, Awil-Merodakh, king of Babel, in the year he began to reign, lifted up the head of Yehoyakhin, king of Yehudah, from the house of confinement.

And he spoke kindly to him, and he gave his throne above the thrones of the kings who were with him in Babel.

And he changed his prison clothes, and he ate bread regularly before him all the days of his life.

And his allowance, a regular allowance, was given to him from the king, a daily matter, day by day, all the days of his life.
