And the king sent, and he gathered to him all the elders of Yehudah and Yerushalayim.

And the king went up to the house of יהוה, and all the men of Yehudah and all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim with him, and the priests and the prophets and all the people, from small to great, and he read in their ears all the words of the scroll of the covenant that was found in the house of יהוה.

And the king stood by the pillar, and he made a covenant before יהוה to walk after יהוה and to keep His commandments, His testimonies, and His statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, to carry out the words of this covenant that are written on this scroll, and all the people stood in the covenant.

And the king commanded Hilqiyahu the chief priest and the priests of the second rank and the doorkeepers to bring out from the temple of יהוה all the vessels that were made for the Ba'al, for the Asherah, and for all the host of the heavens, and he burned them outside Yerushalayim in the fields of Qidron, and he carried their ashes to Beyt-'El.

And he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Yehudah had appointed, and who had burned incense on the high places in the cities of Yehudah and in the surroundings of Yerushalayim, and those who burned incense to the Ba'al, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the host of the heavens.

And he brought out the Asherah from the house of יהוה from outside Yerushalayim to the Wadi Qidron, and he burned it in the Wadi Qidron, and he ground it to dust, and he cast its dust on the graves of the common people.

And he tore down the cultic rooms that were in the house of יהוה, where the women wove there houses for the Asherah.

And he brought all the priests from the cities of Yehudah, and he defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geva' to Be'er-Sheva', and he tore down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Yehoshua', the ruler of the city, which was on the left of the city gate.

However, the priests of the high places did not ascend to the altar of יהוה in Yerushalayim, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.

And he defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, so that no one would pass his son or his daughter through fire to Molekh.

And he removed the horses that the kings of Yehudah had given to the sun, from entering the house of יהוה, to the chamber of Netan-Melekh the eunuch, which was in the precincts, and the chariots of the sun he burned with fire.

And the altars that were on the roof of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Yehudah had made, and the altars that Manasseh had made in the two courtyards of the house of יהוה, the king tore down, and he ran from there and cast their dust into the Wadi Qidron.

And the high places that were before Yerushalayim, which were on the right of the Mount of Destruction, which Shelomoh king of Yisra'el had built for Ashtoreth, the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh, the abomination of Mo'ab, and for Milkom, the detestable thing of the sons of 'Ammon, the king defiled.

And he broke the pillars and cut down the Asherahs, and he filled their places with human bones.

And also the altar that was in Beyt-'El, the high place that Yarov'am son of Nevat had made, who caused Yisra'el to sin, even that altar and the high place he tore down, and he burned the high place, ground it to dust, and burned the Asherah.

And Yoshiyyahu turned and saw the graves that were there on the mountain, and he sent and took the bones from the graves and burned them on the altar, and he defiled it, according to the word of יהוה which the man of Elohim proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.

And he said, 'What is this monument that I see?' And the men of the city said to him, 'It is the grave of the man of Elohim who came from Yehudah and proclaimed these words that you have done against the altar in Beyt-'El.'

And he said, 'Let him be! Let no one disturb his bones.' So they let his bones and the bones of the prophet who came from Shomron remain.

And also all the houses of the high places that were in the cities of Shomron, which the kings of Yisra'el had made to provoke יהוה, Yoshiyyahu removed, and he did to them according to all the deeds that he had done in Beyt-'El.

And he sacrificed all the priests of the high places that were there on the altars, and he burned human bones on them, and he returned to Yerushalayim.

And the king commanded all the people, saying, 'Observe Passover to יהוה your Elohim, as it is written in this scroll of the covenant.'

For no Passover like this had been observed from the days of the judges who judged Yisra'el, and through all the days of the kings of Yisra'el and the kings of Yehudah.

Only in the eighteenth year of King Yoshiyyahu was this Passover observed to יהוה in Yerushalayim.

And also the mediums, the spiritists, the teraphim, the idols, and all the abominations that appeared in the land of Yehudah and in Yerushalayim, Yoshiyyahu purged, in order to carry out the words of the law that were written on the scroll that Hilqiyahu the priest found in the house of יהוה.

And there was no king like him before him who turned to יהוה with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Mosheh, and after him no one arose like him.

However, יהוה did not turn from the fierceness of His great anger, with which His anger burned against Yehudah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him.

And יהוה said, 'I will also remove Yehudah from My sight, just as I removed Yisra'el, and I will reject this city that I chose, Yerushalayim, and the house of which I said, My name will be there.'

And the rest of the deeds of Yoshiyyahu, and all that he did, are they not written in the scroll of the chronicles of the kings of Yehudah?

In his days, Pharaoh-Necho king of Mitsrayim went up against the king of Ashshur, to the river Perat, and King Yoshiyyahu went to meet him, and he killed him at Megiddo when he saw him.

And his servants carried him, dead, from Megiddo, and they brought him to Yerushalayim, and they buried him in his burial place. And the people of the land took Yo'aḥaz son of Yoshiyyahu, and they anointed him, and they made him king in place of his father.

Yo'aḥaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Yerushalayim, and his mother's name was Ḥamutal daughter of Yirmeyahu from Libnah.

And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה, according to all that his fathers had done.

And Pharaoh-Necho imprisoned him at Riblah in the land of Ḥamat, from reigning in Yerushalayim, and he imposed a tribute on the land, one hundred talents of silver and one talent of gold.

And Pharaoh-Necho made Eliyaqim son of Yoshiyyahu king in place of Yoshiyyahu his father, and he changed his name to Yehoyaqim. And he took Yo'aḥaz and brought him to Mitsrayim, and he died there.

And Yehoyaqim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh. However, he assessed the land to give the silver according to Pharaoh's command; each man according to his assessment, he levied the silver and the gold from the people of the land to give to Pharaoh-Necho.

Yehoyaqim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim, and his mother's name was Zevudah daughter of Pedayah from Rumah.

And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה, according to all that his fathers had done.
