Yeḥizqiyah became king, son of twenty-five years, and twenty-nine years he reigned in Yerushalayim, and the name of his mother was Aviyah daughter of Zekharyah.

And he did what was right in the eyes of יהוה, according to all that David his father did.

He, in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of יהוה and strengthened them.

And he brought the priests and the Levites, and gathered them in the eastern courtyard.

And he said to them, 'Hear me, Levites, now sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of יהוה, Elohim of your fathers, and take out the impurity from the holy place.'

'For our fathers trespassed and did evil in the eyes of יהוה our Elohim, and He abandoned them, and turned their faces away from the dwelling place of יהוה, and they turned their backs.'

'Also, they shut the doors of the vestibule and extinguished the lamps, and incense they did not offer, and burnt offering they did not bring up in the holy place to the Elohim of Yisra'el.'

'And there was wrath from יהוה upon Yehudah and Yerushalayim, and He gave them over to trembling, to desolation, and to hissing, as you see with your eyes.'

'And behold, our fathers fell by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity, because of this.'

'Now, it is in my heart to make a covenant with יהוה, Elohim of Yisra'el, and He will turn back His fierce anger from us.'

'My sons, now do not be negligent, for it is you whom יהוה has chosen to stand before Him, to serve Him, and to be His ministers and offerers of incense.'

'And the Levites arose: Maḥat son of 'Amasay, and Yo'el son of 'Azaryah, from the sons of Qehat; and from the sons of Merari, Qish son of 'Abdi, and 'Azaryah son of Yehalal'el; and from the sons of Gershun, Yo'aḥ son of Zimmah, and 'Eden son of Yo'aḥ.'

'And from the sons of Elisafan, Shimri and Ye'i'el; and from the sons of Asaf, Zekharyah and Matanyah.'

'And from the sons of Heyman, Yeḥi'el and Shim'i; and from the sons of Yidutun, Shim'ayah and 'Uz'i'el.'

'And they gathered their brothers, and sanctified themselves, and came according to the king's command, by the words of יהוה, to cleanse the house of יהוה.'

'And the priests went inside the house of יהוה to cleanse, and they took out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of יהוה to the courtyard of the house of יהוה, and the Levites received it to take out to the Wadi Qidron outside.'

'And they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the vestibule of יהוה, and they sanctified the house of יהוה for eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.'

'And they went in to Yeḥizqiyah the king and said, 'We have cleansed all the house of יהוה, the altar of burnt offering, and all its vessels, and the table of showbread, and all its vessels.'

'And all the vessels which King 'Aḥaz during his reign, in his transgression, neglected, we have prepared and sanctified, and behold, they are before the altar of יהוה.'

'And Yeḥizqiyah the king rose early, and gathered the officials of the city, and went up to the house of יהוה.'

'And they brought seven bulls, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven male goats for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Yehudah. And he said to the sons of Aharon the priests to offer them on the altar of יהוה.'

'And they slaughtered the cattle, and the priests received the blood and sprinkled it on the altar. And they slaughtered the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar. And they slaughtered the lambs, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.'

'And they brought the sin offering male goats before the king and the assembly, and they laid their hands on them.'

'And the priests slaughtered them and made atonement with their blood on the altar, to atone for all Yisra'el, for the king said, 'The burnt offering and the sin offering are for all Yisra'el.''

'And he stationed the Levites in the house of יהוה with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with lyres, by the command of David, and Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet, for the command was from יהוה, by the hand of His prophets.'

'And the Levites stood with David's instruments, and the priests with trumpets.'

'And Yeḥizqiyah said to offer the burnt offering on the altar, and at the time the burnt offering began, the song of יהוה began, and the trumpets, and by the hand of the instruments of David king of Yisra'el.'

'And all the assembly prostrated themselves, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded trumpets, all until the burnt offering was finished.'

'And when they finished offering, the king and all who were found with him bowed down and prostrated themselves.'

'And Yeḥizqiyah the king and the officials said to the Levites to praise יהוה with the words of David and Asaf the seer. And they praised with joy, and bowed down and prostrated themselves.'

'And Yeḥizqiyah answered and said, 'Now you have consecrated yourselves to יהוה. Come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of יהוה.' And the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and everyone with a willing heart, burnt offerings.'

'And the number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, two hundred lambs; all these for a burnt offering to יהוה.'

'And the consecrated offerings were six hundred bulls and three thousand sheep.'

'Only the priests were few, and they were not able to skin all the burnt offerings. And their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was finished, and until the priests sanctified themselves, for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.'

'And also, burnt offerings in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and with the drink offerings for the burnt offering. And the service of the house of יהוה was established.'

'And Yeḥizqiyah and all the people rejoiced because Elohim had prepared for the people, for the thing happened suddenly.'
