And all the people of Yehudah took 'Uziyahu, and he was sixteen years old, and they made him king in place of his father Amatsyahu.

He built Elat and returned it to Yehudah, after the king lay down with his fathers.

'Uziyahu was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Yerushalayim, and the name of his mother was Yekolyahu from Yerushalayim.

And he did what was right in the eyes of יהוה, according to all that his father Amatsyahu had done.

And it came to pass that he sought Elohim in the days of Zekharyahu, who understood in the visions of Elohim, and in the days of his seeking יהוה, Elohim made him succeed.

And he went out and fought against the Pelishtim, and broke down the wall of Gat, and the wall of Yavneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and he built cities in Ashdod and among the Pelishtim.

And Elohim helped him against the Pelishtim, and against the 'Arvim who lived in Gur-Ba'al, and the Me'unim.

And the 'Amonim gave tribute to 'Uziyahu, and his fame went forth as far as Mitsrayim, for he had become exceedingly strong.

And 'Uziyahu built towers in Yerushalayim on the corner gate, and on the valley gate, and on the corner, and he fortified them.

And he built towers in the desert, and he dug many cisterns, for he had much livestock, and in the lowlands and in the plain, farmers and vinedressers, in the mountains and in the fertile land, for he loved the soil.

And 'Uziyahu had an army doing military service, going out to war by companies, according to their enrollment, by the hand of Ye'i'el the scribe, and Ma'aseyah the overseer, under the hand of Hananyahu, one of the king's officials.

The total number of the heads of the fathers, mighty warriors, was two thousand six hundred.

And under their command was an army of three hundred thousand and seven thousand five hundred, warriors of great strength, to help the king against the enemy.

And 'Uziyahu prepared for them, for the entire army, shields, spears, helmets, body armor, bows, and sling stones.

And he made in Yerushalayim ingenious devices, devices of a designer, to be on the towers and on the corners, to shoot arrows and large stones, and his fame went forth to a distant place, for he was marvelously helped, until he became strong.

But when he had become strong, his heart became proud, to his destruction, and he trespassed against יהוה his Elohim, and entered the temple of יהוה to burn incense on the altar of incense.

And Azaryahu the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of יהוה, valiant men.

And they stood against King 'Uziyahu and said to him, 'It is not for you, 'Uziyahu, to burn incense to יהוה, but for the priests, the sons of Aharon, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out from the sanctuary, for you have trespassed, and it is not for your honor from יהוה Elohim.'

And 'Uziyahu was enraged, and in his hand was a censer for burning incense, and in his rage with the priests, and the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the house of יהוה, from above the altar of incense.

And Azaryahu the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and behold, he was leprous on his forehead, and they hurried him out from there, and he himself also rushed to leave, because יהוה had struck him.

And King 'Uziyahu was a leper until the day of his death, and he lived in a separate house, a leper, because he was cut off from the house of יהוה, and Yotam his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

And the rest of the deeds of 'Uziyahu, the first and the last, Yeshayahu the prophet, son of Amos, wrote them.

And 'Uziyahu lay down with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings, because they said, 'He is a leper.' And Yotam his son reigned in his place.
