Yehoshafat lay down with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Yehoram his son reigned in his place.

And he had brothers, sons of Yehoshafat: Azaryah, and Yeḥi'el, and Zekharyah, and Azaryah, and Mikha'el, and Shefatyah. All these were sons of Yehoshafat, king of Yisra'el.

And their father gave them many gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Yehudah. And the kingdom he gave to Yehoram, because he was the firstborn.

And Yehoram arose over his father's kingdom, and he strengthened himself, and he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the rulers of Yisra'el.

Yehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalayim.

And he walked in the way of the kings of Yisra'el, as the house of Aḥav did, because the daughter of Aḥav was his wife. And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה.

And יהוה was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant which He made with David, and as He said to give him a lamp and to his sons all the days.

In his days, Edom rebelled from under the hand of Yehudah, and they appointed a king over themselves.

And Yehoram went out with his officers, and all the chariots with him. And it happened that he rose up by night and struck Edom who surrounded him, and the officers of the chariots.

And Edom rebelled from under the hand of Yehudah until this day. At that time Libnah also rebelled from under his hand, because he had forsaken יהוה, the Elohim of his fathers.

Also, he made high places in the mountains of Yehudah, and he caused the inhabitants of Yerushalayim to prostitute themselves, and he led Yehudah astray.

And a letter came to him from Eliyahu the prophet, saying, 'Thus says יהוה, the Elohim of David your father: Because you did not walk in the ways of Yehoshafat your father, and in the ways of Asa king of Yehudah,

But you walked in the way of the kings of Yisra'el, and you caused Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim to prostitute themselves, like the prostitution of the house of Aḥav, and also your brothers, the house of your father, who were better than you, you killed.

Behold, יהוה will strike a great plague upon your people, and upon your sons, and upon your wives, and upon all your possessions.

And you, with many sicknesses, with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels come out from the sickness, day after day.

And יהוה stirred up against Yehoram the spirit of the Pelishtim and of the Arabs who were near the Kushites.

And they came up into Yehudah, and they broke into it, and they carried away all the possessions found in the king's house, and also his sons and his wives, and no son was left to him except Yeḥo'aḥaz, the youngest of his sons.

And after all this, יהוה struck him with a disease in his bowels, a sickness without cure.

And it came to pass, after days, after days, and at the end of two years, his bowels came out with his sickness, and he died of terrible diseases. And his people did not make a burning for him, like the burning for his fathers.

He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalayim. And he went without desire, and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
