And Yehoshafat his son reigned in his place, and he strengthened himself against Yisra'el.

And he put forces in all the fortified cities of Yehudah, and he put garrisons in the land of Yehudah and in the cities of Efrayim, which Asa his father had captured.

And יהוה was with Yehoshafat, because he walked in the first ways of David his father, and he did not seek the Ba'alim.

For he sought the Elohim of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not according to the deeds of Yisra'el.

And יהוה established the kingdom in his hand, and all Yehudah gave tribute to Yehoshafat, and he had abundant wealth and honor.

And his heart was lifted up in the ways of יהוה, and furthermore he removed the high places and the Asherah poles from Yehudah.

And in the third year of his reign, he sent his officials, Ben-Ḥayil, and 'Ovadyah, and Zekharyah, and Netana'el, and Mikayahu, to teach in the cities of Yehudah.

And with them the Levites, Shema'yahu, and Netanyahu, and Zevadyahu, and 'Asa'el, and Shimrimot, and Yehonatan, and Adoniyahu, and Toviyahu, and Tov Adoniyahu the Levites, and with them Elisama and Yehoram the priests.

And they taught in Yehudah, and with them the scroll of the Torah of יהוה, and they went around in all the cities of Yehudah and taught the people.

And the fear of יהוה was upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Yehudah, and they did not fight against Yehoshafat.

And from the Pelishtim, they brought Yehoshafat gifts, and a burden of silver; also the Arabs brought him sheep, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.

And Yehoshafat continued to grow greater and greater, and he built in Yehudah fortresses and cities of storehouses.

And he had much work in the cities of Yehudah, and men of war, mighty warriors, in Yerushalayim.

And these were their enrollments according to their ancestral houses: For Yehudah, captains of thousands, 'Adnah the captain, and with him three hundred thousand mighty warriors.

And next to him, Yehokhanan the captain, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand.

And next to him, 'Amasyah son of Zikhri, who volunteered for יהוה, and with him two hundred thousand mighty warriors.

And from Binyamin, Eliyada a mighty warrior, and with him archers and shields, two hundred thousand.

And next to him, Yehosavad, and with him one hundred and eighty thousand soldiers trained for war.

These were the ones serving the king, besides those whom the king had placed in the fortified cities throughout all Yehudah.
