And Shelomoh, son of David, grew strong in his kingship, and יהוה his Elohim was with him, and he made him exceedingly great.

And Shelomoh spoke to all Yisra'el, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every leader, to every chief of fathers in all Yisra'el.

And Shelomoh and all the assembly went with him to the high place which was in Giv'on, for there was the Tent of Meeting of the Elohim, which Mosheh, servant of יהוה, made in the wilderness.

But the Ark of the Elohim, David brought up from Qiryat Ye'arim, for David had prepared a place for it; David had pitched a tent for it in Yerushalayim.

And the bronze altar, which Betzal'el son of Uri, son of Ḥur, made, was there before the Tabernacle of יהוה, and Shelomoh and the assembly sought Him there.

And Shelomoh went up there to the bronze altar before יהוה, which was at the Tent of Meeting, and he offered on it a thousand burnt offerings.

In that night, Elohim appeared to Shelomoh and said to him, 'Ask what I shall give you.'

And Shelomoh said to Elohim, 'You showed great kindness to David my father, and You made me king in his place.'

Now, יהוה Elohim, let Your word to David my father be confirmed, for You have made me king over a great people, like the dust of the earth.

Now, give me wisdom and knowledge, so that I may go out before this people and come in, for who can judge this great people of Yours?'

And Elohim said to Shelomoh, 'Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for riches, possessions, or honor, nor the life of your enemies, and you have not even asked for many days, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge, so that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king.'

Wisdom and knowledge are given to you, and riches and possessions and honor I will give you, such as has not been for the kings before you, nor shall be for those after you.'

And Shelomoh came from the high place which was in Giv'on, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Yerushalayim, and he reigned over Yisra'el.

And Shelomoh gathered chariots and horsemen, and he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Yerushalayim.

And the king made silver and gold in Yerushalayim as common as stones, and the cedars he made as plentiful as sycamore trees which are in the lowlands.

And the source of the horses for Shelomoh was from Mitsrayim, and from Miqveh the king's merchants bought them at a price.

And they brought up and brought out from Mitsrayim a chariot for six hundred silver pieces, and a horse for one hundred and fifty, and so for all the kings of the Ḥittim and the kings of Aram, they brought them out through them.

And Shelomoh said, 'I will build a house for the name of יהוה, and a house for my kingdom.'
