They brought the ark of Elohim and set it in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Elohim.

When David finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of יהוה.

He distributed to every man and woman of Yisra'el, to each, a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake.

He appointed some of the Lewi'im before the ark of יהוה as ministers, to commemorate, give thanks, and praise יהוה Elohei Yisra'el.

Asaf was the leader, second to him Zekharyah, Ye'i'el, Shemiramot, Yiḥi'el, Mattityah, Eli'av, Benayahu, Obed Edom, and Ye'i'el with musical instruments and lyres, while Asaf made music with cymbals.

Benayahu and Yaḥazi'el the kohanim continually sounded trumpets before the ark of the covenant of Elohim.

On that day David first appointed Asaf and his brothers to give thanks to יהוה.

Give thanks to יהוה, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.

Sing to him, make music to him, talk of all his wonders.

Glory in his holy name; let the heart of those who seek יהוה rejoice.

Seek יהוה and his strength; seek his face continually.

Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments of his mouth.

You offspring of Yisra'el his servant, sons of Ya'aqov, his chosen ones.

He is יהוה our Elohim; his judgments are in all the earth.

Remember forever his covenant, the word he commanded to a thousand generations.

The covenant he made with Avraham, and his oath to Yitsḥaq.

He confirmed it to Ya'aqov as a statute, to Yisra'el as an everlasting covenant.

Saying, 'To you I will give the land of Kena'an, the portion of your inheritance.'

When you were few in number, very few, and strangers in it.

They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.

He allowed no one to oppress them, and he rebuked kings on their account.

Do not touch my anointed ones, and do no harm to my prophets.

Sing to יהוה, all the earth; proclaim his salvation from day to day.

Declare among the nations his glory, among all peoples his wonders.

For great is יהוה, and greatly praised; he is feared above all elohim.

For all the elohim of the peoples are idols, but יהוה made the heavens.

Splendor and majesty are before him, strength and joy in his place.

Ascribe to יהוה, families of the peoples, ascribe to יהוה glory and strength.

Ascribe to יהוה the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him; worship יהוה in the splendor of holiness.

Tremble before him, all the earth; indeed, the world is established; it shall not be shaken.

Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, and let them say among the nations, 'יהוה reigns.'

Let the sea thunder and its fullness; let the field exult and all that is in it.

Then the trees of the forest will sing out before יהוה, for he comes to judge the earth.

Give thanks to יהוה, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.

And say, 'Save us, Elohim of our salvation, gather us and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to glory in your praise.'

Blessed be יהוה Elohei Yisra'el from everlasting to everlasting. And all the people said, 'Amen,' and 'Praise יהוה.'

He left there before the ark of the covenant of יהוה Asaf and his brothers to minister before the ark continually, for the matter of each day on its day.

Obed Edom and his brothers, sixty-eight; Obed Edom son of Yedutun and Ḥosah as gatekeepers.

And Tsadoq the kohen and his fellow kohanim before the mishkan of יהוה at the high place that was in Giv'on.

To offer burnt offerings to יהוה on the altar of burnt offering regularly, morning and evening, and according to all that is written in the Torah of יהוה, which he commanded concerning Yisra'el.

And with them Heman and Yidutun, and the rest of the chosen ones who were named to give thanks to יהוה, because His steadfast love is forever.

And with them Heman and Yidutun with trumpets and cymbals for making sounds, and musical instruments of Elohim; and the sons of Yidutun for the gate.

And all the people went to their homes, and David turned to bless his house.
