And David consulted with the chiefs of thousands and hundreds, with every leader.

And David said to all the assembly of Yisra'el, If it is good for you, and from יהוה our Elohim, let us send, let us send to our brothers who are left in all the lands of Yisra'el, and with them the priests and the Levites in their cities with their fields, and let them gather to us.

And let us bring the Ark of our Elohim to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Sha'ul.

And all the assembly said to do so, for the matter was right in the eyes of all the people.

And David gathered all Yisra'el from Shiḥor of Mitsrayim and to the entrance of Ḥamat, to bring the Ark of the Elohim from Qiryat Ye'arim.

And David and all Yisra'el went up to Qiryat Ye'arim which is Yehudah, to bring up from there the Ark of the Elohim יהוה, the One who dwells among the cherubim, upon which the Name is called.

And they put the Ark of the Elohim on a new cart from the house of Avinadav, and Uzah and Aḥiyo were driving the cart.

And David and all Yisra'el were playing before the Elohim with all their strength, and with songs and with lyres and with harps and with tambourines and with cymbals and with trumpets.

And they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, and Uzah stretched out his hand to grasp the Ark, for the oxen had stumbled.

And the anger of יהוה burned against Uzah, and he struck him because he stretched out his hand to the Ark, and he died there before the Elohim.

And it angered David because יהוה had broken out against Uzah, and he called the name of that place Peres Uzah, until this day.

And David feared the Elohim on that day, saying, How shall I bring the Ark of the Elohim to me?

And David did not bring the Ark to him, to the city of David, but turned it aside into the house of Oved-Edom the Gittite.

And the Ark of the Elohim stayed with the house of Oved-Edom in his house three months, and יהוה blessed the house of Oved-Edom and all that he had.
