Do not rejoice, Yisra'el, with gladness like the nations, because you have whored from your Elohim; you have loved a payment on all grain threshing floors.

Threshing floor and winepress will not feed them, and new wine will fail them.

They will not dwell in the land of יהוה, and Efrayim will return to Mitsrayim; and they will eat unclean things in Ashshur.

They will not pour wine for יהוה, nor will their sacrifices be pleasing to Him; their bread is for mourners for themselves; all who eat it will be defiled, because their bread is for their own appetite; it will not come into the house of יהוה.

What will you do on the day of the appointed time and on the day of the festival of יהוה?

For behold, they have gone from destruction; Mitsrayim will gather them, Moph will bury them; their desirable things of silver, nettles will inherit them; thorns will be in their tents.

The days of punishment have come, the days of recompense have come; Yisra'el will know; the prophet is a fool, the man of the spirit is mad, because of your great iniquity and great hostility.

Efrayim is a watchman with my Elohim; a prophet is a snare of a fowler on all his ways; hostility in the house of his Elohim.

They have deeply corrupted themselves, like the days of Giv'ah; He will remember their iniquity, He will punish their sins.

Like grapes in the wilderness I found Yisra'el; like the first fruit on its early fig I saw your fathers; they went to Ba'al-Pe'or and consecrated themselves to shame, and became detestable things like their beloved.

Efrayim, like a bird, will fly away; their glory from birth, from womb, and from conception.

Even if they bring up their sons, I will bereave them of mankind; for indeed, woe to them when I depart from them.

Efrayim, as I saw, is like Tyre, planted in a beautiful place; but Efrayim will bring out his sons to the slayer.

Give them, יהוה, what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

All their evil is in Gilgal, because there I hated them; because of the evil of their deeds, I will drive them out of my house; I will not love them anymore; all their princes are rebels.

Efrayim is struck; their root is dried up; they will bear no fruit; even if they bear children, I will kill the desirable things of their womb.

My Elohim will reject them because they did not listen to Him, and they will be wanderers among the nations.
