A ram's horn is at your throat, like an eagle over the house of יהוה, because they have transgressed my covenant and sinned against my teaching.

To me they cry out, 'My Elohim, we know you, Yisra'el.'

Yisra'el has rejected good; an enemy will pursue him.

They made kings, but not from me; they appointed rulers, but I did not know. They made for themselves silver and gold idols, so that they might be cut off.

Your calf, O Shomron, has been rejected. My anger burns against them. How long will they be unable to be pure?

For from Yisra'el, this too is a craftsman's work; and it is not Elohim. For the calf of Shomron will become shards.

For they sow wind and will reap a storm. A stalk has no head; it will produce no flour. If it produces, strangers will swallow it.

Yisra'el has been swallowed. Now they are among the nations like a vessel with no desire for it.

For they went up to Ashshur, a wild donkey, alone. Efrayim has hired lovers.

Even though they hire among the nations, now I will gather them. They will begin to diminish from the burden of the king of princes.

For Efrayim has multiplied altars for sin; altars for sin have become for him.

I will write for him my abundant teachings, but they are regarded as foreign.

They sacrifice flesh as offerings of my delight; they eat flesh. יהוה has not accepted them. Now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins. They will return to Mitsrayim.

And Yisra'el has forgotten his maker and built palaces, and Yehudah has multiplied fortified cities. So I will send fire on his cities, and it will consume their fortresses.
